[spoiler]Yesterday's quote:
1991 DS Ep #6 (-1970) - Maggie - 'Sara, we need your help. You MUST tell us of the evil that has descended upon this house.'
From
SHADOWS IN THE '90s: The Dark Shadows Concordance 1991 - PLOT SUMMARIES - EPISODE SIX:
COLLINWOOD: Victoria gives Maggie the family his- tory book. Sara's portrait is already in place. Maggie approves - familiar objects help when trying to attract a spirit. Roger would prefer they conjure up someone he'd really like to talk to - say, Abraham Lincoln. Elizabeth protests his frivolity. Maggie directs them to place their hands in an unbroken circle. Carolyn doesn't until Barnabas directs her with a glance. Roger asks, how will Sara contact them? Will they see her? Maggie explains that physical appearances are quite rare - they may hear a voice, or there may be some other sign. She stresses the importance of keeping from negative thoughts - they may frighten Sara away. Roger protests, he's all in favor of this - it should be a fascinating experience. Elizabeth sug- gests they begin. Maggie, "We are gathered here in an attempt to contact another world. Our purpose is to speak to one who has appeared to some of us at this table, and who has at- tempted to warn us of the great dangers that surround all those who live in this house called Collinwood. Sara... Sara Collins, please speak to us... Please warn those you believe to be in danger. Help us to understand what forces are here to destroy those who live in this house..." She continues to plead with Sara to respond. Lightning flashes and thunder roars. Victoria's eyes close and she whispers, "Yes..." Maggie starts, then warns everyone not to move - "We cannot break this circle. Are you Sara Collins?" Victoria replies, yes. Maggie again asks her help - tell them of the evil. Victoria, "Evil. Yes, there is evil. Everyone at Collinwood will die unless..." Maggie begs her to explain. "Someone must come. Someone must try - to change things! To make them - different!" A violent flash of lightning explodes and thunder strikes. The lights go out. Vic- toria screams. A wind whips through the room. When the lights are turned back on, everyone gapes in astonishment at the battered blonde woman wearing 18th century dress who sits at the table in Victoria's place. She stares at them in ab- solute terror, then collapses. Elizabeth, "My God, what have we done? Where's Victoria?"

And the summary doesn't directly reference the entire quote but does share a part of it as well as convey the circumstances under which it occurs...
And as I will do eventually once I get access to it, I'll use a screen capture from the TGG Direct DVD release that's the same dimensions as the ones from the original series -
- however, I don't have access to it at the moment and because for some odd reason YouTube, which has copies of all the other TGG eps, doesn't have a copy of Ep #6, so I couldn't get a screen capture from there. But anyway, even though that release also doesn't have the correct color timing like the VHS release (which I also don't have access to at the moment) does -
- also like the VHS release, it has the correct aspect ratio, plus it even tends to show a bit more of the frame and it's clearer than the VHS.
And even though the MGM DVD release, like the TGG Direct release, tends to be clearer than the VHS, frustratingly, the aspect ratio is cropped from 4X3 to 16X9 -
And just a reminder, we've seen notations like "DS 1991 Ep #6 (-1970)" before and in this case it means that the quote should have come from the 1995-Gerard and Daphne-Summer of '70 storyline but that one doesn't have any more eps that haven't been quoted from.
And this is the third quote from this ep. The first (Carolyn - 'I can't believe you're sitting around taking this seriously. You MUST all be crazy') was back on February 1st of 2025, and the second (Elizabeth - 'MUST we, George?'), also from that same scene, was back on February 2nd.
(And there will be many more eps coming up without "must" lines...)
