Depp/Burton DARK SHADOWS Is In Production!!

On another note, apologies if this has been mentioned but I don't think I've seen it- the WaterTower (Warner Bros) Music page now has sound snippets of the DS Soundtrack:

Thanks for the link!  Listening to "The End?", I finally realized:  OMG!  Elfman's main theme for this movie is a fantasia on Cobert's DS theme!  One particular sequence of intervals just hit me, and I immediately picked up on how Elfman is playing around with the original theme, twisting it around a bit, toying with the keys and rhythm, and making something brand new out of it.  The more I hear of this score, the more I love it.

That's mainly why I took umbrage with the idea that Burton isn't a fan.  As much as I don't care for the tone of the film (or at least the TV spots), I would never say Burton and Depp aren't DS fans because it's very clear that they are.  In my friend's defense, he's a casual fan and doesn't follow the interviews etc. as closely as we do.  He read the Blastr article and took it as fact.  I can see how that article (taken out of context from its LA Times source), coupled with the comedic tone of the TV spots could make someone come to the conclusion that Burton doesn't really like the original.  He said this in front of several people who were agreeing with him and I found myself arguing in Burton's DEFENSE.  Ha!  Who'da thunk it?!  To quote a line from one of Burton's films: "Tragic irony or poetic justice?  You tell me.  Waugh!" - The Penguin     

It's interesting because as I was picking out screen captures to post from the Extra segment, it seems as if they were able to pack in more stuff in a shorter segment that ET did.
