For once, you are right, says Petofi, slamming his hand down on Quentin's wrist, making him drop the weapon. Nursing his injured wrist, Quentin asks, in a heartbreaking voice, "Why won't you help me? If you know what it's like, why won't you?" To get something, you must pay the price, says Petofi--a little bargaining, perhaps. I'm willing to bargain, says Quentin. You're only willing to cringe, says Petofi, to make inept excuses--you must learn--I paid my price (he holds up his false hand) you must pay yours! Petofi leaves.

The Robservations reference the quote almost perfectly...

And when it comes to the first "must" line in the except, Petofi does indeed say it, so it will no doubt show up in the slideshow one day...

And this is the second quote from this ep. The first (Magda - 'But, Quentin, Quentin, you got to be, you got to be careful. You MUSTN'T do anything foolish') was back on August 19th.

The Robservations for Ep #932 doesn't summarize the teaser, which is a reworking of the ending of Ep #931. So, for what it's worth, here's an excerpt of how things play at the end of Ep #931:

From "Robs 5/8/03 - #930-931 - Lung Brat Plays With Paul; Grant Sees Q's Portrait"

Osmond's place is adorned with paintings all over the walls. Julia leads Amanda and Quentin into a room where the covered portrait awaits them. Osmond allowed us to see it alone, says Julia. I should be used to you dragging me into strange rooms by this time, says Grant--"What is it, doctor?" Julia stands before the covered painting--it's a Tate of Quentin Collins, she explains. "Grant" laughs--another attempt to prove I'm 100 years old. Glancing at Amanda's solemn face, he adds, "And you take it as seriously as she does!" Yes, admits Amanda, but won't tell him why.  Have you ever seen that portrait?--does it look exactly like me? asks Grant. No, says Julia, I haven't seen it--it was covered by a landscape that Osmond had removed. Oh, two Tates for one, laughs Grant--commercially, not a bad deal--and I'm supposed to stare at it and say "I'm Quentin, it all comes back to me now"--this is too insane! He starts to leave.  Amanda stops him--it isn't insane, believe me, she begs. All right, my lady, he says, just what secret do you know--or are you both crazy?  He'd prefer to leave the room and the house.  Amanda begs him not to. Look at the painting, advises Julia--see what effect it has on you--it's vitally important to all of us that you regain your memory. I don't see why it matters to anyone but me, says Grant. You're wrong, says Amanda seriously. Very wrong, agrees Julia--clear your mind of anger and be as responsive as possible. All right, doctor, he says. Julia removes the covering from the painting.   Amanda screams.  Grant's face screws up in incredulous horror.

And as you could see, Julia's line is delivered slightly differently in Ep #931, so no doubt that version will show up in the slideshow one day...

And this is the third quote from this ep. The first (Mr. Best - 'You MUSTN'T try to understand all I say. My mind is much more complex than yours, or anyone's for that matter. I pride myself on that') was back on November 19th of 2020, and the second (Amanda - 'I have five more minutes-- you MUST give them to me!') was back on December 22nd of 2021.

Asks Q.  The "servant" replies, I never drink during working hours.  (Priceless expression on Selby's face.)  No, of course you don't, says Q--sit down.  Edward seems reluctant, but Quentin assures him it's all right--when I told you there was something wrong with Jamison, you wouldn't listen to me, but now you must.  Edward assures "sir", I am listening.  Quentin orders, don't call me sir!  But I must, says Edward, I know my place! Vicki sleeps. Adam watches her. Nicholas returns and says he can take Vicki away now--my house isn't far, he says, pleased that Adam used the drugs he gave him. Vicki will sleep several hours, says Nicholas, and will awaken in her new hiding place. She won't know where she is. Don't harm her, demands Adam, and Nicholas promises she won't be if Barnabas cooperates.

The Robservations paraphrases the quote not using "must" - shameful - but it does cover the main point...

And this is the fourth quote from this ep. The first (Nicholas - 'No, that is out of the question. You MUST STAY here') was back on January 28th of 2021, the second (Nicholas - 'So you MUSTN'T be afraid to tell me the truth') was back on December 13th of 2021, and the third (Nicholas - 'Now, you MUST trust me') was back on February 28th of 2024. Apparently we loved to quote Nicholas from this ep. It would take more than a luncheon date to make him forget that, says roger. He was certainly nice enough to me, she says dreamily. Then he must have wanted something from you, says Roger. Don't be mean, she says--the only thing he wanted was my company

The Robservations references the quote almost perfectly...

And you've no doubt noticed that it isn't Roger who appears in today's screen capture. That's because Roger delivers the quote while he's off screen and it's Carolyn who's on screen, which is why today's screen capture features Carolyn -

- rather than Roger. And as I've explained before, normally we would just skip a quote if the character saying it isn't on screen. However, in this instance Roger's "must" line is the only one in the ep.

You'll also note that once again a screen capture has red bars on the left and right sides of it. And that's because it's something that we're using to further indicate that a character other than the character delivering the quote is on screen.

That's because Roger delivers the quote while he's off screen and it's Carolyn who's on screen, which is why today's screen capture features Carolyn -- rather than Roger. Basement, Old House - Willie stands stunned by Jason's death. Barnabas chides him angrily for allowing McGuire into the basement, promising him a fate worse than death should it happen again.

Barnabas decrees that Jason's body will be buried in the secret room in the mausoleum

The Robservations doesn't reference the quote and, actually, barely references its circumstances at all because the ep falls into the period where there's little detail. However, the AOL Upadate from back when the ep was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel as the second ep on 10/11/95 is a bit better:

After Jason is lying quite dead on the floor, Barnabas asks Willie the obvious question - what the heck was Jason doing here?  Willie tells Barnabas that Jason was after the jewels.  Barnabas tells Willie that this didn't mean Willie had to bring Jason to the basement.  He warns Willie to never ever ever do anything like this again, or else.  He then turns his attention to the problem of disposing of Jason's body.  He decides they'll bury him in the secret room in the Collins mausoleum.  Willie comments that Jason was always curious about that mausoleum, and now he's going to spend eternity there.  What bitter irony.  Shut up and help me carry this corpse upstairs, Barnabas orders.

And yet again the quote is the only "must" line in the ep.

Natalie goes to the Gaol to see Vicki, and with Peter (who Vicki assures Natalie is her friend) standing by, listening, promises her anything--money, freedom--if she'll just release Josette from the spell she's put her under. Once again, Vicki denies weaving any spells, but Natalie doesn't believe her, accusing her of putting Josette under a spell so her prophecy about Josette's death will come true.

The Robservations doesn't reference the quote or its circumstances at all because the ep falls into the period where there's little detail. However, the quote comes up after Vicki tells Countess du Pres that Peter is her friend and the Countess remarks that's a very dangerous thing to be.

Sit down, says Morgan--I must warn you.  About what? she asks.  You will feel impelled to ask questions, and I must ask you to refrain from doing so, at least until tomorrow, he says.  I'll do whatever you ask me to do, she says.  As the oldest son, I've inherited certain responsibilities, he says, one of these is most serious, and must be carried out this evening--I want you to promise that if anything happens to me...  Happens to you?--what? she asks, concerned.  I didn't mean to put it that way, he says, what I'm trying to say is, if I act any different tomorrow, you must not marry me.

She regards him with shock.

The Robservations references the quote perfectly...

And both the first and second instances of "must" do indeed appear in the scene, so no doubt they will show up in a future installment of the slideshow.

And this is the third quote from this ep. The first (Morgan - 'You MUST NOT ask any more questions') was back on April 28th of 2020, and the second (Catherine - 'Morgan, you MUST NOT hold this lottery') was back on May 28th of 2023.
Apparently Ep #1201 is one in which people are definitely being told what they "must not" do. 

And just a reminder, we've seen a notation similar to "Ep #1201 (1841PT[-1968/69])" before and in that case it meant that the quote should have come from an 1968/69 ep, but because there are no longer any 1968/69 eps that haven't been quoted from, an alternate version of DS is being used instead. In this case that alternate version is the 1841PT storyline and a quote from its Ep #1201 is being used.

Jamison joins Quentin in the drawing room and sarcastically says, "Uncle Quentin, let's play treasure. Find the important paper--you'll need it soon

--here are some clues: Twice burned, once torn, but still intact and fear is born--the secret of the Reverend Trask reveals a face behind the mask--he's hidden it for none to see, but the paper's where IT wants to be."

The Robservations doesn't reference the quote at all. However, it's actually the case that Quentin joins Jamitofi in the drawing room, where he says that many people have suggested that it would be wise if he changed his personality, but he doesn't agree with them, so Quentin will have to take him as he is. Quentin insists he's a child. And after that is when the quote is delivered, followed by Jamitofi taking on Jamison's persona and suggesting they play a game...

Also, some of the dialogue that is quoted in the synopsis isn't actually delivered the way it's written. The way things are actually said is:

Jamitofi: "Can we play a game, Uncle Quentin?"
Quentin: "Well... So that's how you fooled Magda. She let you out of the cell because she thought you were cured."
Jamitofi: "What are you talking about? Let's play treasure."
Quentin: "Jamison!"
Jamitofi: "You know how. There's a paper in this room. A very important paper. You're going to need it soon, Uncle Quentin."
Quentin: ::sigh::
Jamitofi: "Honest you will."
Quentin: "What are you talking about?"
Jamitofi: "I'll give you a clue: Twice burned, once torn, but still intact and fear is born."
Quentin: "Twice...burned... Now, what is twice burned then torn? Tell me. Why is it important to me?"
Jamitofi: "You'll need all the help you can to get it. And in a way it'll be insurance for you, once you find it."
Quentin: "And, uh, where shall I find it?"
