The Robservations changes one word but otherwise gets the quote perfectly...

Morgan informs the startled Flora and Julia of Bramwell and Daphne's wedding.  He's annoyed when the ladies discuss sending a wedding present to the newlyweds.  This family is not obligated to Bramwell, says Morgan.  Bramwell is a Collins, Julia reminds him, and when a Collins marries, it's customary to send a gift.  We have more important worries than wedding gifts, he says.  Morgan, it's simply a gesture, we are not going to dwell on it, we're just going to do it, says Flora.

She hangs up and excitedly tells Carolyn, I was right--her name is Betty Hanscomb. And you think that's the same name that's on the ledger sheet? Asks Carolyn. It has to be, says Vicki--how many B. Hanscomb's can there be in Collinsport? What does that prove? Asks Carolyn. Don't you see? asks Vicki, sitting beside her on the sofa--she and I look so much alike, there must be some connection. You mean you think she might be your mother?--is that what you're trying to tell me? asks Carolyn. I don't know, admits Vicki, all I do know is there is a possibility that I have or did have some family here in Collinsport. Wouldn't that be wonderful? asks Carolyn. Yes, it would, says Vicki.

Vicki denies being a witch, but Josette says the book has convinced her, and she wants to use it as evidence against her in when her trial begins. Vicki desperately points out that Barnabas was going to help her, so why would she do such a thing, but Josette doesn't listen--she's going to testify against her  and make sure she's punished for taking away the one person she most cared about. And if the book is right, and she is going to die by her own hand, she'll make sure Miss Winters hangs first!

No, I just watched you sleep, she replies. He is jubilant, but Julia wonders why this dream is different from the others. Exultant, he says I've won-I wasn't meant to survive the dream, but I did, and now I'm free of Angelique! Julia is wary--how can you be so sure? Something went wrong with the dream curse, guesses Barnabas. Julia protests this seems too easy. Barnabas is sure it's all over now, and orders Julia to go get Willie from the basement. Julia wants them to go down there together, she doesn't want him alone, but Barnabas says nonsense--go get him. (oh, we just KNOW this is bad!)

Trask assures him Barnabas' days are numbered.  What concerns me most right now is the possibility that someone else might learn this dreadful secret, says Edward, ruining my family's reputation.  Trask agrees the Collins name must be protected.  Edward remarks, it will be dark in another hour--another opportunity to get him

This time the slideshow goes where it's only gone four times before: using an opening voiceover. Although, unlike in the other instances, it isn't the only place in the ep where "must" is used, but it is the only place in the ep that was left to feature in the slideshow. And no doubt you're asking yourself what kind of graphic was this to choose for the slideshow:

Well, as has been the case in the past, the graphic was chosen from the exact moment when  "must" comes up in the voiceover. Unfortunately, what was on screen wasn't particularly interesting because it was at the outset of a shot of a panel in the foyer's stained glass window going from out of focus to in focus:

And this is the third quote from this ep. The first (Barnabas - 'The lust. The lust. I MUST find someone to make me stop thinking of Maggie. I MUST find someone tonight!') was back on May 9th of 2021, and the second (Will - 'Oh I don't know him actually. I ran into him once. Tall, dark, wild man. Described him to Quentin, Quentin said that MUST be who it is') was back on January 8th of 2022.

Julia rocks back and forth as Willie brings her the stake and hammer. She asks for them, not really wanting the instruments of her loved one's destruction. She sets the stake against Barnabas' heart, but can't go through with hitting it with the hammer. She gazes at them, drops them, steps away from Barnabas, shaking her head. "I cannot do it," she cries, and Willie grabs her shoulders with joy, pressing his head against her shoulder. They both know. . .she thanks him. She can't do it! He'll turn into a vampire, Willie reminds her--should they get his coffin set up in the basement or secret room? Willie reminisces about discovering Barnabas in the tomb-he never should have taken him out of there, he knows it now. (an understatement!) They can't put him back there; too many know about that place, says Julia, including Angelique. Julia tells Willie she promised Barnabas he'd never live as a vampire, and she'll keep that promise-they'll bury him in the woods. He's dead, they must face it. She orders him to dig the grave. They can't do it alone, protests Willie, but Julia says they can because they must.

DRAWING ROOM: The party guests have left. Maggie has brought out a ouija board. Roger, Elizabeth, Joe, Carolyn, Julia and George Patterson watch with interest as Maggie ex- plains the workings of the ouija board. Barnabas joins them as Maggie and Roger begin working the board. Roger's question: "Will the State of Maine ever secede from the Union and name Collinsport as its capitol?" The board gives a decisive "No." Roger is mock-crushed. Maggie suggests someone ask a "real question". Sheriff Patterson asks if the person responsible for the "troubles" in Collinsport is still around. Julia gives Bar- nabas a nervous look. Elizabeth is disturbed that he's bringing up these memories. Barnabas and Carolyn trade glances. Mag- gie closes her eyes. The board answers "Yes". Elizabeth accuses Roger of moving the planchette. Patterson: "Is it someone we know?" The planchette doesn't move. Roger suggests they ask it for a name. Patterson, "What letter does the killer's name begin with?" The planchette moves around and finally chooses "C". Roger observes, "There are a lot of 'C's' in the room. I wonder if it means a first name, or last?" Patterson asks if "C" stands for a last name. It answers yes. Roger, "I have an alibi." Elizabeth warns them to stop, but Roger refuses, calling the suspense "excruciating". Roger offers: "O great mystical board, answer this next question: Which letter does the first name begin with?" The planchette moves, circling around the board. Barnabas glances at Carolyn. Julia notices the interchange be- tween them. Carolyn suddenly hurls herself at the board, knocking it to the ground, shouting this is all stupid. Elizabeth takes her to task for her "wild behavior". Carolyn flares they're all crazy and storms out. Roger comments, "Sorry, George, you almost had your killer," declares the party over and leaves. Barnabas and Julia trade glares.

And the summary doesn't directly reference the quote but certainly conveys the circumstances under which it occurs...

And as I've done previously when it comes to the '91 Series, I used a screen capture from the TGG Direct DVD release that's the same dimensions as the ones from the original series -

- because even though that release also doesn't have the correct color timing like the VHS release does -

- also like the VHS release, it has the correct aspect ratio, plus it even tends to show a bit more of the frame and it's clearer than the VHS.

And even though the MGM DVD release, like the TGG Direct release, tends to be clearer than the VHS, frustratingly, the aspect ratio is cropped from 4X3 to 16X9 -

And just a reminder, we've seen notations like "DS 1991 Ep #6 (-1966: Ep #22)" before and in this case it means that the quote should have come from 1966's Ep #22 but that ep doesn't have any "must" lines to quote from. So, with that in mind, it means that Ep #22 now joins Eps #1, #5, #8, #12, #13, #120, #124, #136, #138, #139, #141, #189, #198, #210, #217, #219, #223, #478, #659, #667, #690, #904 and #1008 as ones without any "must" lines.

(And unlike in my other months, I've been so busy with other stuff that I haven't already picked out all the eps for February, so at this point I have no idea just how many eps will be coming up without "must" lines. Though I do know that there will be at least two...)

These recurring nightmares David is having are starting to worry me, Liz tells Vicki down in the drawing room. Liz sits at the desk. I can't imagine what causes them, says Liz. I can't, either, agrees Vicki. Having that frightening picture in his room doesn't help--why did you give it to him, you must have known it would upset him, says Liz. I'm not sure why I gave it to him, says Vicki, some kind of an impulse--he was so insistent about having it--he seemed to want it so much. Has Mrs. Collins seen it? asks Liz. Yes, says Vicki. What did she say? asks Liz. She was mystified by it, says Vicki, when I showed it to her, she seemed very frightened--she was very insistent that it shouldn't hang in David's room. I must say I agree with her, says Liz.

From "#0235/0236: Robservations 11/6/01:"

Maggie, in the hospital now, sleeps, an IV in her arm. Dr. Woodard says her heartbeat is stronger, her color better. An anxious Joe shows up. Maggie awakens, and they explain to her that she's in the hospital. Maggie is glad Joe and Sam are both with her, but when she starts describing what happened, she grows agitated and says she doesn't want to remember her terrible nightmare.

This Robservations is another that comes up during the period where there's little detail - it doesn't reference the quote at all. However, after Maggie says that she glad Joe and Sam are both there, Sam responds by giving a nervous laugh and saying, "Of course we're here, darling. And we're gonna to stay right here with you." He then turns to Dr. Woodard and asks, "Dave, would it be all right if we spoke to her for a few minutes?" Dr. Woodard replies, "Yeah, but just for a few minutes," and he follows that by delivering the quote. Sam agrees with an "All right," and Dr. Woodard leaves the room. Then Sam gently asks Maggie if she can calmly and quietly explain what happened. Maggie starts to remember that Vicki was there but then she had a terrible dream. And after that point is when she becomes quite agitated...
