Quentin sits listening to his music, a drink at hand, butts in the ashtray.  He's sleeping on the sofa in the drawing room.  The bottle is mostly empty.  Quentin dreams.  He hears Jenny singing her lullaby to the baby.  He rises from the sofa and goes to her.  Jenny looks very pretty.  She finishes her song and tells Quentin--she's sleeping peacefully now.  She's as beautiful as her mother, says Quentin.  Jenny grins, agrees, yes, she is.  He joins her.  I'm sorry for you, says Jenny, having to give her up.  I'm going to take her back to Collinwood, he protests.  After she was born, relates, Jenny, they took her away from me--I was mad, but I knew they were taking her away-- knew she must not stay at Collinwood.  She belongs here, says Quentin.  No, says Jenny, there will be no happiness for anyone at Collinwood, there never has been--there can be none for her.  Nothing will happen to her, promises Quentin.  A child can't be shut in behind such high walls, insists Jenny.

Oh I, I suppose it has to be in the course of a technicality like a duel, but he MUST kill him') was back on September 14th of 2020, the second (Millicent - 'If you have not seen Barnabas, and I have, then someone MUST find out why') was back on June 9th of 2021, the third (Joshua - 'Yes, I MUST find out why') was back on June 25th of 2022, and the fourth (Millicent - 'Ben knows that Barnabas is back. But he lied to me. You MUST punish him for lying, Cousin Joshua. When it is this important, someone MUST be punished') was back on December 8th of 2022.

And this ep now shares the of a fifth quote with Eps #42, #44, #52, #66, #106, #133, #208, #211, #300, #367, #377, #384, #449, #466, #543, #544, #550, #556, #609, #629, #639, #646, #655, #678, #709, #727, #734, #742, #746, #915, #977, #993, #1057, #1111, #1197 & #1218. Joe questions Barnabas about Nicholas. He's Cassandra's brother, says Barnabas, but has stuck around even though she left Roger and Collinsport--it's a mystery why he's staying. Joe says he got a note from Blair this morning--he met him at Maggie's the previous night, and they didn't hit it off, yet he got this odd note from Nicholas asking him to come at 7 PM, he wants to talk to him. Barnabas asks if he's accepting the invitation, and Joe says yes, out of curiosity. Barnabas asks Joe to come see him after he speaks to Nicholas, and Joe agrees. They agree they are both curious about him.

The Robservations doesn't reference the quote directly but does references its circumstances...

And this is the second quote from this ep. The first (Barnabas - 'Willie. You know you MUST do what you're told. Now, there's no way out for you') was back on December 17th.

He asks.  I'm alone in the world, she says--I was running from a man I could never resist--I learned in the village that you have a reputation as a good, devout person.  I've learned that faith can be the answer to most human miseries, says Trask.  I've done so many things I'm ashamed of, she says.  "My dear young lady..." begins Trask.  I don't deserve to be called a lady, she assures him, not the way I've lived.  (Do I hear a rustling down in Trask's drawers?)   No sinner is completely beyond salvation, says Trask, faith produces miracles--I know it--is the man you're running form your husband?  I don't consider myself fit to be married, she says.  Don't be so harsh on yourself, he counsels--who is the man?  His name wouldn't mean anything to you, she says, but he was cruel, degrading, a man who controls people, very strong, not just  physically, but mentally, it's easy for him to impose his will on others--I couldn't bear it any longer and ran away from him, but now I fear he'll come after me.

Angelique looks out the windows, parts the curtains, and calls Joe to come to her. "Come to me," she wheedles. Joe looks at his reflection in the mirror, ordering himself to resist her. He's warring fiercely with himself, wanting to go and not wanting to just as much. Angelique continues to call her victim, telling him she needs him now. "You need me. You want me. Come. . .come to me."

Joe struggles, then realizes he does need and want her-he can't resist her any longer, he can't! He leaves his room.

He holds the knife to her throat and suggests, check your memory again.  If I knew, I'd tell you, she sobs, but I don't, so why won't you leave me alone?  "I'm beginning to lose my patience, Miss Harris!" he warns.  There was a box in Tim's room earlier, she says.  Now you're being sensible, says Aristede.  It was an ordinary box wrapped in paper, says Amanda--Tim took it away.  Where did he take it? demands Aristede.  Crying, Amanda says, I don't know, I asked him where he was going, but he wouldn't say.

With regard to Ep #813, this post from 2020 is definitely worth revisiting:

...what's even more interesting is that this ep was missing when DS was shown in local syndication (and it isn't alone in that because 6 eps were missing even though Worldvision was in possession of kinescope copies of them or, in the case of 3 eps, the Master Tapes - Worldvision simply chose not to include them, which I've always found very bizarre!). This and the other missing eps weren't shown on TV again until the SciFi Channel first ran them between 1992 and 1993 (though they also came out on VHS between 1991 and 1993, and I loved how MPI called them "long-lost episodes" even though they weren't lost).

Unlike most of the other missing eps, at least this one had two photos that had been circulated. They first appeared in the February '70 issue of 16 Spec as part of their Spec Ticklers, a feature of the magazine that took various photos and gave them humorous captions and/or dialogue (DS appeared in the feature at least twice, for this ep and for hoDS). The first photo was actually from this scene (though apparently David Henesy didn't wear -

- the cape during rehearsal). And coincidentally, the second photo was from the scene -

- used back on April 7th. A somewhat cropped version of that photo also appeared in -

1990's DS Companion. If a copy of the first photo ever appeared in a PomPress book, I can't recall which one, though I did scan through a few without finding it...

And similar to hoDS, I used a screen capture from the Laser Disc for NoDS -

(It's interesting that even on the Laser Disc you can barely see what's outside the window because it's washed out.)

And Ep #57 is our first ep without any "must" lines for this month - though there will definitely not be a long wait at all for the next one.
