The Robservations for Ep #844 doesn't summarize the teaser, which is a restaging of the ending of Ep #843. So, here's an excerpt of how things play at the end of Ep #817:

At the hotel, Tim talks to the creation--I know you understand me, he says and you can also speak if you want--still afraid, he realizes, but for the 100th time, you shouldn't be, I can keep you out of harm's way as long as it's necessary!  The creation sits, silent.  I promise you, says Tim, gazing out the window.  The creation, looking very sad, stands and looks at the door, then goes over and touches Tim on the shoulder.  Tim turns around, delighted--yes, you can trust me, I'll protect you, no harm will come to you--but tell me everything you can--everything!  The creation opens his mouth, about to spill all.

Catherine eyes Brutus with something resembling lust.  Brutus continues to entreat, "Come to me, forgive me, that is all I want, your forgiveness, Amanda!"  "Yes, Catherine says, stepping forward eagerly.  No, insists Bramwell, holding her pressed against him--you will not go to him!  "Do you still love me, Brutus?" she asks.  I have never stopped, he says--come to me--we shall share eternity!

She struggles in Bramwell's grasp--"Let me go to Brutus!"  Try and fight him! begs Bramwell, who starts to choke.  The ghost laughs--"He must die!" Brutus intones.  Alarmed, Catherine is shaken from her entranced state.  "No, he must not die!" she cries--"Fight him, Bramwell, fight him!"  Come...come! orders Brutus.  Bramwell battles the strangulation as Catherine holds onto him.

She asks her cousin if he'll accept her help, and he replies of course, but he says he must be honest--there is a risk involved with the experiment. Carolyn is willing to take it for Adam's sake.

Barnabas had no idea she was that attached to Adam, and she says of course she is--if not for him, she wouldn't be alive now.

When Julia tells him it's time for his treatment, Barnabas advances on her and threatens her with a treatment of her own, from him--he starts throttling her because she was disloyal and didn't protect him! He learned about David's little visit, and he's pissed as hell at her! He says he dealt with David, but not with any violence, and she insists the only way he'll be forever safe is if her treatments are successful. "I'm frightened," he quietly admits, and you can see Julia's sympathy for him. His quest isn't over--he wants his bride, and nothing must stop him.

Only his own hysteria will do that, Julia reminds him--if you are destroyed, so am I; by protecting you, I'll protect myself. Her tender speech causes Barnabas to remove his jacket as a sign of acquiescence, and you sense these two have turned a corner.

OLD HOUSE:  Barnabas, seated in a chair, Willie at his feet, reads from the diary:  "June 26.  Saturday.  My older brother Barnabas and I went to the fair today.  We had such a wonderful time.  The weather was so beautiful that on the way home he allowed me to go barefoot on the beach.  But alas, when we came home he became so very sad again..."  His voice full of tears, he puts the book down.  "Willie, words cannot describe how much I loved this child."  Willie wistfully com- ments he wishes he had a kid sister.  But why did Sara die so young - only nine years old?  Barnabas tearfully explains she became very ill - "But as hard as I tried, I couldn't save her." The summary doesn't really reference the quote except to say Willie is sympathetic after Barnabas reveals that as hard as he tried, he couldn't save Sara. But the quote comes up right after that remark from Barnabas and before Willie brings up David...

And as I've done previously when it comes to the '91 Series, I used a screen capture from the TGG Direct DVD release that's the same dimensions as the ones from the original series -

- because even though that release also doesn't have the correct color timing like the VHS release (which I don't have any access to at the moment) does -

- also like the VHS release, it has the correct aspect ratio, plus it even tends to show a bit more of the frame and it's clearer than the VHS.

And even though the MGM DVD release, like the TGG Direct release, tends to be clearer than the VHS, frustratingly, the aspect ratio is cropped from 4X3 to 16X9 -

She says she doesn't understand. "You cannot move," he tells her. "Try to move your hand." She can't! She asks what he 's doing to her. "You cannot speak," he says. "You will neither move nor speak until you understand exactly what you are to do.

You will be my slave. You will do exactly as I tell you to do. You will be completely rational, but you will be my slave. Do you understand?" Carolyn nods. He allows her to speak, and she asks what he wants her to do. Tell Adam you will participate in an experiment that will provide a mate for Adam. "A mate?" asks Carolyn. The mate has already been created, he tells her, but the mate needs to be infused with a life force--and the life force will be yours. She doesn't understand, but he says that isn't necessary--she will participate in the experiment, to help Adam. He tells her not to be frightened, she won't he harmed or in danger. He orders her to tell him she isn't afraid, and she repeats the words, smiling.

The Robservations references the quote without using "must" - shameful!!

And you've no doubt noticed that it isn't Nicholas who appears in the screen capture. That's because Nicholas delivers the quote while he's off screen and it's Carolyn who's on screen, which is why today's screen capture features Carolyn -

- rather than Nicholas. And as I've explained before, normally we would just skip a quote if the character saying it isn't on screen. However, in this instance Nicholas' "must" line is the only one in the ep that takes place in the actual 1968 story - there are other "must" lines, but they all take place during a flashback to 1967.

You'll also note that once again a screen capture has red bars on the left and right sides of it. And that's because it's something that we're using to further indicate that a character other than the character delivering the quote is on screen.
