I take it Depp is currently filming this one?  It would seem highly dubious that the 2011 release date for Depp Shadows is going to happen...

Ugh!  Witchcraft and Satanism are NOT the same thing!  The I Ching comes from ancient China and was already over a thousand years old at the time of Christ's birth.  It has zero to do with the Christian religion or its putative opponents.

The Twilight series is thinly veiled propaganda for the author's hardcore Mormon moralism.

Will these religious fanatics EVER have a close encounter with the real world???

"Julia," if that's supposed to be her, seems to have been derived from a still of Grayson as Pepe in "Satan in High Heels"!

And "Angelique" looks more like Samantha--the DS Samantha.

The Twilight Zone figures have real style about them.  I guess that's the assignment they give their artists who actually have talent.  Love the copy of the little devil box from that Shatner episode.

I would have suggested a scene between Maggie Collins and Hoffman from the 1st week of Parallel Time 1970.  Maggie asks where Ange's bedroom was and Hoffman looks as if she's remembering seeing God and says something like "it faced the sea... the sun always seemed so much bright there..." And Maggie snaps, "Only you could turn an answer to a question into a testimonial."

I think it shows both actresses at the top of their game...

For what it's worth... a fan who helped run GH's revived fan club in the late 1970s (the club which published Shades of Grayson) told me that GH had been approached to attend some of the conventions of that time, which were I think organized by a woman named Barb who is no longer involved in fandom.  Apparently GH felt very nervous about being around big crowds of enthusiastic fans and that was why she hesitated to agree and ultimately never did attend a fan event.  When a dinner in GH's honor was organized in '82 (the "Grayson Gathering"), she was very particular about the length of the guest list and whittled it down until it was only about 15 people, I think.

In the original edition of the DS Almanac, they print from an interview somebody did (which I was never able to track down) where GH described doing a pub appearance alongside JF at some point in the late Sixties and how the police cordon gave way and there was this surge of screaming, semi hysterical fans towards the car where GH and JF was sitting.  Grayson commented something like "I'm an old war-horse, but THAT frightened me!"

So, I personally think that if GH were around today, it's unlikely we would be seeing her at the fan conventions.  I imagine her in blissful retirement, happily tending her flowers at her estate.

Well, that's very interesting that Costello did appear in the film.  I had always wondered whether his departure from DS was an amicable one or not.  DC did not, to say the least, have a good track record when it came to amicable departures.

I thought Costello was in Ottawa pretty much full time from around October of 1969 through July of 1970 but evidently he made trips back to NYC...

Hi Midnite, I can't resist noting that Bob Costello couldn't have appeared in hoDS because at that point in the scheme of things, he was living in Beautiful Downtown Ottawa acting as producer for one of my favorite series, Strange Paradise!

I don't recall at all Denise Nickerson ever giving a reason why she left the series.  I think I was at that Collins Assn. party too, because I remember standing with Denise just outside the building talking to her about Grayson, who she remembered as very professional, courteous, and always being on top of her lines which she indicated wasn't always the case with other cast members.

Then again I don't remember her story about being the movie either, so I must have missed her presentation at the event.

Dear B. Collins,

Denise Nickerson wasn't in either of the DS films.  A publicity item stating that she was slated to be in the projected THIRD film, to be titled either Death of DS or Curse of DS (can't recall which), was published in a 1971 mag, but I think by the time that the little squib was printed, Dan Curtis had already decided not to proceed with a third movie.
