Interesting that one of the last reported tweets implies that Jerry Lacy was there.  I didn't realize that.  Now I'm really bummed I missed out!

Thanks to MB and Michael for the reporting on the Depp Shadows panel.  I'm not surprised that there were so few revelations.  Am pleased to learn that Mrs J will at least appear.  Hopefully Jonny Lee Miller gets a line about "boiled New England dinners."

It's so unfair to the fans who were still getting autographs that they had to miss this.  But that's par for the course for the DS Festival...

Many thanks MB for collecting all those tweets. and those are some great photos.

That's too bad about Nancy not being able to appear.  I hope she is OK.

I'm sorry I am missing it this year.  I am stuck in Boston dealing with a very bad, frustrating situation.

I'm sure it is just as well they did run the WB pilot since no doubt there were many fans there who had never seen it.

Thanks Michael for the interesting report!

I always thought her favorite character was Maggie.  Her best performances in the show, as far as I am concerned were Maggie in 1966, particularly when she was setting her cap for Joe, and a few of the Lady Kitty episodes when Kitty was intriguing to snare a rich hubby at Collinwood.  Of course, once Kitty fell under the spell of the dead Josette, it was back to yawnsville and the standard mouth-breathing "W-where am I?? W-what am I doing here?" crap they made her do over and over again...

But then, I'm not much of a KLS fan or a Josette fan...

The event sounds really nice.  Thanks for the report!  What a nice treat for the fans to have Marie there, too.

For now at least, what appears to be the entire film from 1970 "Hi, Mom!" (directed by Brian de Palma, starring Robert de Niro), co-starring Lara Parker, has been loaded onto Youtube:

I watched a bit of the beginning but no scenes with Lara showed up.  It's definitely a different kind of project for her.

At this time, Art Wallace was both plotting and writing every episode.  I think he wrote the first eight weeks or so solo.

Interestingly, I think at the end of the series it was almost exactly the same, with Violet Welles (uncredited; screen credit went to Gordon Russell) writing every show, or nearly every show, while Sam was busy scrambling to get the NoDS screenplay together.

It sounds like fun!  Is this the one where Lara appeared at one point baring her fangs?

It was such a treat seeing the shots from the piano screen and reading the fruity, bitchy dialogue.  Thanks for choosing these!  I wonder whether by this time next year, we'll have the DVD with the restored scene available to enjoy whenever we wish to do so?

I also found myself wondering whether, in her own mind, Diana Millay was playing her Laura scenes in the movie with the subtext that this Laura, like the other two she had played, was destined to become a Phoenix?

Hoping Diana, Lara Parker and David Selby were all able to loop their original dialogue from this scene!  It seems destined to become a classic.  Thanks again to Darren for so heroically, indefatigably taking on the task of restoration!

MB, I am LOL at your delightful transcriptions of Angelique's dialogue in today's snapshot!  If only I knew the software to produce a clip that had a giant fake ear codswalloping the saucy Witch in the middle of one of these speeches.  For some reason, they had her bellowing "EAR me!" every five minutes in one episode, or so it seemed.

It sort of goes with Hallie's plaintively bleating "WHUUUU are YUUUU?" in the original series...

Thanks for a much needed laugh... (I'm experiencing the closest thing to the Summer from Hell in recent memory, so every little bit helps).

At least the reporter didn't have her saying that JF was walking across the set once in his underwear... I could swear that that was a widely circulated version of that blooper at one time...

It sounds to me as if KLS was having a bit of a "Norma Desmond" moment in that interview... but who knows.  I do hope the cameos don't wind up on the cutting room floor, but it could easily happen.

All the stuff about the Cannery and the harbor is quite fascinating!  I always wondered whether there was a lingering odor of canned sardines at Collinwood.  One would imagine they would have been a staple of the meals there.

She's referring of course to Frid's blooper during 1897, when he accidentally walked across the set that was on cam for the closing credits carrying one of his costumes on a hanger.

It sounds as if she either didn't finish her thought about it, or the reporter garbled what she said.

That's amazing that the original series actors got three days work out of this.  I would love to know what the fees were.  It's good to hear that they were all treated so well.

Wow.  They "weren't satisfied" by something from the prize-winning pen of S. E. Hinton, yet they published the Salem Branch??

I'll never, ever understand the current publishing scene.

There was a thread about it a year or two ago.  I haven't had time to read the book.
