CUT TO:
81 EXT - TARRYTOWN STREET - DAY 81
Claire, driving along the street.
And that's when yesterday's first quote -Page 30A/Scene 81 - Claire: 'So everything is perfect?'
- comes up, followed by the script continuing with:
81 CONTD CONTD 81
And that's when yesterday's second quote -Page 31/Scene 81 - Tracy: (tentatively) 'Yes.'
- comes up, followed by the script explaining:
Claire picks it up.
And that's when yesterday's third quote -Page 31/Scene 81 - Claire: 'It isn't perfect?'
- comes up, followed by the script continuing with:
81 CONTD CONTD 81
TRACY
Well, it is but I'm a little
concerned about Quentin. I don't
think he's getting a lot of work
done.
CLAIRE
What's he doing?
...
And there's absolutely nothing to get into when it comes to differences with the dialogue, the descriptions, or the directions because nothing here was ever shot.
All I know for sure is what the doctor told me, says Patterson, that the death coincided with the time on his watch--and it stopped 10:45. That was right after I left the house, murmurs Sarah. Now, about the time, says Patterson, you said that Bill received a phone call at 10:30--do you have any idea who that was from? Not the slightest, she says. Nothing he said gave you any hint as to whether it was a man or a woman? asks the sheriff. I'm not in the habit of eavesdropping, George, she says. I didn't mean that, he says, chastened. How did you expect me to hear anything, then? she asks. I guess I didn't, he says. Must have been a man, says Sarah--Mr. Malloy was shouting, you could hear even without listening.
Before we leave Scene 80 completely behind for the current run of the slideshow:
I love how Carlotta looks at Quentin as he's discussing having seen the little girl at the room's window -
- I mean, just look at her eyes!
...
I want to share the following still because, like several others for NoDS, it depicts a moment that's not really associated with the actual scene in the film -
(Click here for a 700X476 version)
- because nowhere during Scene 80 is Carlotta seen lying across the bed and looking to be in anguish. In fact, Carlotta remains calm and cool throughout. But hey, perhaps Grayson wanted to do an alternative take on things just for a photograph. Or perhaps the photographer simply wanted to showcase one of Selby's assets from just the right angle and pretended Grayson was the desired subject. We'll probably never know...
(Plus this version shows slightly more than the version shared in the Fest's 1999 Movie Calendar. Very slightly more, but still more...)
