Not surprisingly with the decrease in theaters, DS slipped down several places from last week's 13th weekend list when it comes to this week's list of the films still in theaters for a 14th weekend:

* The Three Stooges did so well in its 14 weekend because it expanded into new theaters.)
However, it's still nice to see that DS' per screen continues to outperform some of the films around it, icluding films playing in a similar amount or even many more theaters than it is. What's also interesting to note is that of the 18 films that have so far made it to a 14th week in release this year, only 6 are currently still in theaters, and this is how they stacked up over the weekend based on their current business:
Film | Gross | Theaters | Weeks | Per Screen |
===================== | ======== | ====== | ====== | ========= |
The Hunger Games | $324,057 | 260 | 21 | $1,246 |
Marvel's The Avengers | $270,823 | 220 | 15 | $1,231 |
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel | $168,041 | 184 | 15 | $913 |
DARK SHADOWS | $23,406 | 45 | 14 | $520 |
The Three Stooges | $13,794 | 27 | 18 | $511 |
Mirror Mirror | $1,295 | 45 | 20 | $29 |
To say that DS is outperforming
Mirror Mirror in as many theaters would be an understatement. And just to show how well DS' per screen compares overall to all the wide released films in theaters currently, even though over the weekend DS ranked 47th among all currently released films, its per screen screen ranked 25th among the current batch of wide released films:
