Current Talk '05 II / Re: DS 1990 Without Woodard (Stokes) ? ? ?
« on: October 26, 2005, 12:17:44 AM »
I think Woodward is quite different from Stokes.

They also had oh man,,,,I can't remember [spoiler](who helped w/Phoenix 1966?)[/spoiler]
Woodward is the physical....Stokes is the paranormal/preternatural.

Just the ramblings of an old hag,

MB...you had a COLOR! TV in '67?? Wow...only my grandparents had one before '70s.

Some of these remembrances sound great...my first real remembrance of DS was 1967 (I remember where we lived)...just watching the waves crash against rocks @ Collinwood. Waiting for my older sister to get home. I was 3, so I didn't 'get it' at all.

I do distinctly remember Dr. Hoffman though; years later, while channel surfing, I'd see DS on PBS (here in NJ). I would watch for a moment or two, vow faithfully that next Friday at IIRC 10:30pm I'd tune in....of course at least a month would transpire before I'd see it again.

I really didn't see DS until most recent Sci-Fi run (? starting in 1998ish/99?)

Who'dathunk that by watching 'an old show' that I'd be online and make such nice friends!!

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / IM Problems
« on: October 23, 2005, 12:27:57 AM »
Just sending Midnite & MB an im; I first put in MB, no dice, then MysteriousBenefactor (no space), still no dice, THEN Mysterious Benefactor.

#1, between each WRONG name, it gave me the 120sec. rule (pain)
#2, the 'find cousin' button did no good
#3 after the im allegedly [hall2_shocked] went through, I then went to MB's profile, but to 'send this cousin an e-mail' it's listed as MysteriousB (so, I don't know if he got the im).

What's with the 'find cousin'; I've tried using it before, to no avail.

Joan Bennett also appeared on Match Game, The Dating Game (choosing a date) and Hollywood Squares.

Does anyone know if and how so I could see screen grabs of Joan Bennett on Match Game or H'wood Squares?

Thanks everyone,

Patti

Who can list all the game shows that DS alums have appeared on?

The only ones I'm aware of are Joan Bennett [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss] was on ?What's My Line? (that's IIRC) and I saw  [hall2_kiss] Joel Crothers  [hall2_kiss] on Family Feud (as cast of another soap).

Were there other shows and/or other actors?

Just now, I'm only looking for game shows.

Thanks!

This remark strikes me as the result of watching too many soap operas.   Either that, or having lived too long in a trailer park.
LMAO.....LOLOLOL!!!

Thanks honey...good day [hall2_cheesy]

Current Talk '05 II / Re: a house for julia
« on: October 19, 2005, 12:37:10 AM »
I think the real advantage of keeping Julia in the house was that it fostered the impression that she was actually a member of the family.  Julia was privy to family secrets in a way that, for instance, Elliot Stokes never was.  I doubt the story would have had the same feel if Julia constantly needed bringing up to speed about the latest tragedy or supernatural manifestation  besetting the family.

And yes, of course, it helped to keep the story moving that she wasn't always being summoned from another part of the estate.  ;)

Well said Rainey.

Also, various Collins' frequently need a physician.

But, good topic....other's who came to Collinwood were 'offered' a cottage...Jeff (I think), and Laura...why not Julia?
