Calendar Events / Announcements '06 I / Beware!!! The Ides of March!!
« on: March 15, 2006, 01:14:52 AM »
Okay, since it's on the DS calendar, I'm going to admit I don't really know what the Ides of March is....(Julius Caeser killed then perhaps)? If so, was he killed by Willie Loomis, or perhaps the part of Nathan Forbes which is currently floating by my screen (yes Gothick, it makes me think of you sweetheart!!)

Could we make a loose DS connection?

Cheers!

Some may remember this photo montage I put together and used as an opening page to show
the collection of photos I shot at last summer's DS fest. ...

I don't know if Castlebee is still taking orders JosettesMusicBox, but, I bought a long sleeve T from her and I still have it.

I don't want to get too much into it here (we could move it to Current Talk if you want).
I'm sorry....

Anywho...here's something that hasn't been mentioned, and should be blamed on Angelique:

Victoria.

Because of Angelique, Victoria spends weeks in jail (and with Peter Bradford!); since this detour is here, Reverend Trask works many machinations (his choice, but w/out Ang, couldn't have); our pal Nathan Forbes 8) goes from a fairly nice guy (hmm) to a bold face liar (read PURGERER!!); there's much strife (yeah, thanks Abigail) between many people all thanks to Angelique.

So this has nothing to do with the vampire curse, but just Angelique's witchcraft, which she INTENDS for SOMEONE else to look bad (Victoria was an easy mark).

Just my humble own,

Patti

Can anyone tell me if McAfee & Norton are both owned by Microsoft? Someone told me they were; and if you click on at least Norton...it's Symantec??

Thanks,

Current Talk '06 I / I'm STUFFED! Eps 807-823
« on: February 26, 2006, 12:26:37 AM »
I randomly popped in a tape...eps 807-823!! (Guess I forgot to change my tape). Interestingly, the commercials (which really are fun to occassionally watch) stated a sale for President's Day, which of course was just a few days ago!

The first 4 eps were very fast moving;
JamesonisPetofi,
hand, hand, who's got the hand, Edward, Edward,
I love
Louis as the 'man's man',
I miss Joan Bennett. Then...someone mentioned Tim Shaw had come back to Collinsport...ugh!!! I then remembered who he was with....AAAAHHHHH!!!!
Funny, I hadn't really noticed PETOFI's inability for giving clear 'visions'; I vaguely remember the scene w/Barn seeing ?current (1969)? time, while PETOFI thinks Barn is seeing his own death.
He gave Beth a perhaps clear vision, but then also boo-booed with
Charity who then becomes PANSY!!!!
Poor Magda.... :'( Grayson really deserves kudos for her acting in this story arc.

Yes MB, your pal Roger Davis was in more than a few scenes...yes...he did try (and was successful) in touching hair....
Poor Barnabas...locked in the 'box'
About half way through these eps, I realized I wasn't seeing TLATKLS; I also wondered if Olivia Harris was a knock-off....does anyone know? Because the way Olivia was dressed and hair coiffed, she did bear a resemblance to KLS.  Also sadly missing in these eps was Lara Parker (did I mention JOAN?  :'().

There were a couple of scenes with Denise Nickerson, which is always enjoyable. I like
when Jamison is calling Nora Amy, and Nora is calling Jamison David, oyevah!!!
Actually, the first 2 eps (807/808?) I noticed that David Henessy seemed to be having trouble with his lines; he was stiffer than his normal self and seemed to be glancing at the teleprompter (IMHO).

So fun....

Did Abe Vigoda ever attend Fests (80's...90's)?

Also, is he aware of DS fandom?

Thanks,

it's reminiscent of Barnabas blaming Angelique for some of the more ancillary events in his life.

Luciaphil...thanks so much for your Idle Thoughts. Could you state some examples of the above? Thanks!

The production slate indicates this the second take which as we all know on DS is a rare, rare thing.

Is this something the average viewer can see?? I don't remember seeing a production slate...

Hasn't one of DS's claims to fame always been that it's the only soap aired in syndication? (Now, granted, with SoapNet, I guess this could be disclaimed for other shows...but it is only a 'soap' station.)

Now, with Passions on SciFi, doesn't this go into the above area?

I've seen a couple of minutes of Passions. Actually, because of MB's recent post on CE/A about a DS reference on Passions, just yesterday (Friday), I was actually alternating between OLTL and Passions. I agree somewhat dull; there did not seem to be alot of individuality. Perhaps that just takes time, but I believe Passions has been on for what, at least 5 years?

Passions on SciFi....INSTEAD OF DARK SHADOWS!!! Horror....Yet Another Reason NOT to Watch SciFi....a gypsy curse upon them!!!
