Have a good weekend,

Current Talk '06 I / Re: How does a DS fan know when they're too old....
« on: February 09, 2006, 10:01:54 PM »
Uh-oh......I grew up in a household where yelling back at the television was the norm.  My Dad always treated TV-watching as a participatory event.  Especially while watching the News.  I still do it.

Thank you Rainey...would you please tell my husband that it's okay to yell at the TV (ESPECIALLY during the news). When I do this, he gets up & points to the TV and says, "Hon, they can't hear you"....hello...duh husband.

Whoosh...I feel better.

I remember an interview with David Selby from a few years ago -- it was done for a website or something. ...

Current Talk '06 I / Re: sale at brewster's!
« on: February 01, 2006, 12:42:01 PM »
Lest anyone think the writers made up Brewsters, at the time DS was originally aired it was an actual department store chain in New England. One of the few times when DS actually coalesced with reality. And it was definitely a hoot to know that the residents of Collinsport shopped in their local store.  [wink2]  However, the chain has long since closed...

Wow!! This is news to me!

BREWSTER'S and that hundreds of people shop there every day

Well, we could liken it to, how many cousins have been in Wal-mart or Target in last week; I'd guess quite a few.

PS...personally, I think they dressed Angelique too 'old', consider she was about same age as KLS & NB; she was more 'matronly' attired, BUT, this could be because she was usually someone's wife....IMHO.

Current Talk '06 I / Re: oh that was so good...Eps 390-400
« on: January 30, 2006, 12:32:48 AM »
Well, it's a miracle, but I came across eps 401-410!!! I saw Millicent (my least favorite Nancy Barrett incarnation) with  :-* Forbes.

uh um...I also saw Roger Davis. Not once did he touch his or any one else's hair!!! (Yes, while watching, I was thinking of you MB  :-* ).

I also saw Barn being turned into a vampire. Quite sad. I had never noticed that the last scene before he 'dies', he and Josette are speaking. It's almost verbatim a rip-off from the movie "Wuthering Heights", but with Josette being Heathcliff/Laurence Olivier and Barnabas being Merle Oberon/Cathy.

For some reason, I thought I hated Aunt Natalie; but these 20 eps, I don't feel offended by her ???.

Current Talk '06 I / oh that was so good...Eps 390-400
« on: January 29, 2006, 01:11:34 AM »
Absolutely nothing on TV, which made me actually grab some tapes!!! 1795, I haven't watched probably since 1999? run. Once upon a time, I might have said 1795 was my favorite, but after seeing whole run, it's good, not superb. I started watching just where CHOsette declares Jeremiah is going to die. There were things I hadn't noticed before; I didn't notice how long Jeremiah 'lingered'. I specifically didn't notice him bothering Angelique. It seemed like they had a good idea w/Jeremiah 'haunting' Ang, and her not being able to put him back to his grave....but after 2 eps, I don't see him anywhere. Ick ick ick....Abigail. I hate her worse than Trask (aw, comeon, it's Jerry Lacy :-*  :-* ). After 4th ep....Vicki!!! Long time, no see (last tape I had seen, it was fauxposerwannabeickyVicki. So seeing A.M. was nice. Then....SARAH!!! I reallly hadn't seen Sharon Smyth(sp) in about 6 years. Boy, was watching 'Naomi and Joshua' so very enjoyable. And, I can't decide if I prefer Sam-the-town-drunk 'regular guy' to Andre's bon-vivant 'swell'. (That could be a poll.)

pssst...I saw  :-* Joel Crothers  :-* in 1 scene...asking Barn if he 'had to' marry Ang/if there was a question of 'honor'...hyuck hyuck hyuck

Well, I took 3 count 'em 3 tapes out....don't know if I'll watch 'some other unknown tape' in a while.

Patti

PS...it would be nice if someone in the know could post ages in 1795 (taping) of actors. I'm interesting in what real age Louis Edmond was to Jonathan Frid and Joan Bennett (since they're playing his parents).

Current Talk '06 I / Ep 153
« on: January 26, 2006, 10:08:03 PM »
I see the screen cap for ep #153. I remember the 1st time I saw it, with the Detective saying how he had 'so much forensic proof...' I was very suprised that there was forensic evidence circa 1966!

Can you imagine! what would happen if this occured now circa post 9/11 & the dawning of the age of no privacy! Seriously...I wonder what would happen...they'd.....hmm...

I finally saw this commercial; I was going to ask if someone could put a screen grab.

I looks similar, but again, the voice is nothing like I remember of Marie Wallace's.

So that's not her, right?

Quote from: Barnabas'Bride
I loathed the antique shop.
I was so happy when Barnabas burned it down.
I couldn't stand how much time was spent there. I didn't like Megan and Phillip and the kids. I liked the concept of the Leviathans even less. I just hated plain the plot. It seemed too scifi for DS and it just didn't work for me. And since it came after the entertaining 1897, it was so hard for me to get into.

BB...me too! I hated Megan & Philip. But, I loved 'mean' Barnabas and Liz was great. I'll admit, the first couple of times, being 'outside the door'...it did have a certain hook to it.

I felt sorry for Paul Stoddard. How do you think Liz would've behaved towards him without the Leviathan aspect?

Wow!! She looks different from what I'm used to seeing!!

Her hair looks great!
