Current Talk '16 II / The Original Series
« on: August 12, 2016, 04:31:24 AM »
I remember during early/mid 2000s, alot of you mentioning now Set XX will be available.

I remember that the series was not necessarily let out in consecutive order.

Now, for everyone who had purchased the series when each Set was out, have you bought the whole series?

Or, who had bought a couple/few of the sets has now bought the complete series?

Who, like me, only had it on VHS?

What struck me about the first year of DS was how much it influenced the movie, in subtle but significant ways.

My own suggestion to you would be to go through it sequentially from the beginning, but that's just the way I am.  Ends and beginnings of storylines overlap, and sometimes interconnect.  But just enjoy it whatever way is best for you!

KMR...yes...when Burke was meeting up w/Strack, then Joe, the outside of the Collinsport Inn was VERY similar to the movie.

I was telling my daughter earlier that Barnabas doesn't come around til ep 166 (IIRC).

I can't wait to see the Laura storyline again!

It's a shame that Watching Project for earlier eps are on Current Talk '15 1.

CAUSE I JUST SAW THE FIRST EPISODE OF DARK SHADOWS. I never had.

Ep 2....Carolyn talking about Roger....ewww....seriously....ick.

COMPLETE AND UTTER SPOILAGE

So, I'm home from work.

Do I:

a) watch episode 1 (which, IIRC, I've never seen, at least not the whole thing)

b) DIVE IN...WATCH WHATEVER I WANT

c) be a smart cookie and start from the beginning

d) ignore my own advice

1897 Quentin, goes into drawing room, sees a certain blonde, "But you're dead!!"

COUNT PETOFI COUNT PETOFI

Angelique w/Skye (I really did like her with him).

AngelEXIS  (T H E moment!!)

Patti....who could outdo ANY kid in a candy store. Made my daughter stop at Walmart to get me chewy chocolate chip cookies....cause, I'm off tomorrow!!!

Current Talk '16 II / Fiddler's 'Hair Dresser'
Just watched Madam Finlay fall down the stairs!!

Then, next ep, Mrs. Johnson's wig...

Have you watched, "Fiddler on the Roof" lately?

ALL the not aged chicks are wearing DREADFUL wigs, just like Mrs. Johnson!

And, BTW, if I knew that "The Haunting of Collinwood' did NOT start with MY favorite prop, I seriously wouldn't have bought it.
(MB, playing that trivia game QuizUp the other day...it mentions a certain 'you know what' (SFP). Love it, because I think of you dahling!!)

I just bought "Masters of Horror 2-Pack: Dreams in the Witch House / Cigarette Burns" on Amazon.

There was no review of them; I went to IMDb, I don't know if these were one installment of a TV series, a made-for-TV movie, or what, but, they each sounded fairly good for the price ($1.50 + $3.99 shipping).

I also bought "10 Cloverfield Lane", which, and I don't know why, have been waiting for it to come out for sale, and for it to drop (in the one day it was in my cart, it went down to $3.97, and again, 3.99 shipping).

DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT CLOVERFIELD LANE PLEASE.

But, if you know anything about the first double-feature I mentioned, love to hear it.

Thanks,

Patti

Well boys & girls, I just watched my first made for Netflix show.

Stranger Things.....loved it!

I only watched the first ep, so I'm not reading anymore on this thread.

Thanks for the recommendation MB!!

(Different thread, but on my local news, it mentioned about no more free Hulu.)

Oh, and, BTW, did everyone notice that Stranger Things is filmed in Georgia!!

Actually, I can picture Anderson Cooper as Roger, or a Trask.
