Current Talk '16 II / 2012 Movie Question
« on: June 06, 2016, 05:36:17 PM »
On the top, it says, "DS played for 23 weeks...."

Did it play in Europe? How about anywhere in Asia (I'm assuming not in Pakestan, but, what about Japan or Korea)?

Australia?

Does anyone know how many languages (if any) it was 'dubbed'?

Thanks,

Patti
I wonder why Barn didn't try to contact Angelique? She may have been able to interpret the clues.

Then, I realized, we're not going to see Ang for a while.

Why? Was she doing something else?
Peeps have commented that David wasn't a 'child' anymore, but not a serious teen.
We all know the scene which I believe happens soon that really makes David seem like a kid.
I had to do 'chat' w/Amazon last night; after issue resolved, rep asked me if I had any other issues, I asked about Me-TV. He asked me to hold on, he couldn't find it nor 'google' (or whatever Amazon uses) and he'd never heard of it.

Gerard, this is so funny, because it's me, in reverse.
We were the only people I knew who didn't have cable.
One year, I asked my Mom if she would get it for us for a year (bill going to her).
The cable co. didn't come on 3 separate occassions (we each missed work), so, without them saying, or us asking, for the 3 years we had with that provider, we got HBO & Showtime for free.

Dom, I've never seen an ad for Me TV; as a matter of fact, I mentioned it to my 25 year old daughter, and she's never heard of it either.

So, if I knew how, I could have MeTV which I hear about? I thought it was something which was 'provider specific'.

Can I (as long as it's not too much money) have Me TV?????????????????????????

(to the tune of 'In the Year 2525')

I just replied to MBs post about "Outcast", and, how it didn't seem logical that I could watch it:

a) for FREE
b) BEFORE it was on the network who was paying for the production.

Do we see cable going bye-bye?

I think we'll always have the 4 networks, and maybe 3-5 'syndicated' channels.

What's YOUR opinion?

How many of us have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Roku, and so many others?

When I'm at work, I can stream my local news for free (the boss pays for Internet).

Dish still doesn't do 'a la cart'.

I really only watch (on a regular to semi-regular basis):

ABC (that's my choice for my local news, and my daughter lives for Thursday nights)
CW (Supernatural)
Freeform (mostly for "The Middle")
TNT (4 eps of Supernatural in morning, and, if I don't have to work & its during school time, I'll watch Bones)

Was semi-regular with Pivot, but they're barely showing any Buffy anymore :(
Up (7th Heaven & Gilmore Girls), but, I've mentioned I'd bought the who series of Gilmore Girls in 'll.

I know most of my family watches cooking shows & some DIY; I'll watch History channel from time to time. I'll watch PBS if Civil War is on (I wonder if PBS will show re-runs of Downton Abbey). Has PBS ever done the whole 'rerun' deal?

Wonder if one of the higher up sydicated channels will eventually buy the rights for reruns (CW)?

How many people think we'll still be watching 'traditional' TV by 2020? And, that's not even correct, because almost all of us remember 'free television' (granted, there were only about 6 channels).

607
??  I can watch it, for free, BEFORE it's out??
2+2= eggplant

Sounds good. Was so glad they mentioned what the actor (the pic of him) was on; I knew I knew him, but I didn't remember from what.

The series does sound good, but we don't subscribe to any of the premium channels.

Well, even though recently-ish I had an extremely bad experience with ebay (though, it involved a seller, and then PayPal), I just purchased DoD for $6.99 (includes S&H).

I'll post my opinion(s) eventually on CE&A.

Thanks again for that, I can't believe I've never heard of it. It said country of filming, Belgium, Region A formatted.

In 1967, Mrs. Johnson invited Barnabas into Collinwood and The Evans' invited him to their cottage.
Judith invited him in 1897 when he arrived.

Yeah, but, Mrs. Johnson didn't have the 'authority' to invite him in to his familial home, and 1897 Barn was still a living Collins, therefore, automatically invited (someone would have to 'un-invite' Barnabas Collins).

Agree with you Michael C.

Case in point would be the 'Dream' sequence(s). There's the 'everyday, mundane' life going on, except for ONE person, trying to NOT tell ONE other person.

I've only seen the '66 Laura, specifically, IIRC it was Vicki, Burke, and __________________ (Joe?).

I like the way it took them more that a nano-second to start to see a pattern. That's one of the best story arcs (and, with that, the whole 1897/Quentin saying, "You're dead", and a little bit later, Barn saying, "That can't be Laura from 1755/whatever).

Its ebook, and .31 yes 31 cents .

Karlen's bare butt always got a great response from the audience.

WHAT?!?!

Patti

613
John Karlen was in Europe filming Daughters of Darkness.

Uncle Roger, I had never heard of this film. I IMDbed it, and this was the synopsis:

The most beautiful vampire film ever made
(the 9 1/2 stars I couldn't copy).

So, now I'm decided from who to buy it.

Thanks so much!!

Umm...I had seen stuff on FB, but, I thought we weren't supposed to put personal info of a DS CHARACTER.

Josette my beauty, I really mean no offense.

Now only Stokes and Quentin remain of the original family members-Mrs. Johnson and Carolyn are both dead

Well, technically it isn't accurate. The only 2 remaining Collins are Barn & Quentin.

Also Robin wrote that when Julia was giving him yet anothr sedatie, what if it was poisoned. Posion wouldn't kill him ala the portrait.

The scences bet Carolyn and Barn were very tender and lovely. The scenes with NB & DS were very, very poignant.

Why does he want her body? Creep.

Oh, btws, forgot to mention today that I HATE HATE HATE GS &DH.
