unlike a few Fridays lately when I've been going out with friends. If that had been the case this week, who knows when I would have been coming home, but the forum would have likely been down for hours.

oh hoo! Imagine our MB 'out on the town'....

Thanks MB, and from your original reply to me, yes, using Chrome (I realllllllly thought YOU were the one who recommended it to me) and, as you guessed, never had additional issues.

.....outonthetown.....

I just watched "Dracula 1974".

Oyevah....

This actually had much more of Peter Cushing than Christopher Lee.

I do not believe I've ever seen it.

I'm sorry, "...Long Morrow" was the ep right before the one I'm referring to.
Sorry, I don't know the name; the 'gist' of it was an 'olderish' couple with a few 'servants' + a 'daughter', all of which are not what they seem.

I know it's been mentioned, about "Dracula" having same time-slot as '90 DS series; but, the Zap2It didn't really seem to thrilled....

Funny that I haven't seen any type of 'coming this fall' type commercials; I may not watch NBC perse, but NBC is partnered with USA and other channels.

Current Talk '13 II / Cross-Over Question
« on: July 09, 2013, 06:57:47 PM »
Monday a.m., I was watching an episode of "Twilight Zone" titled "Into That Long Morrow".
I *believe* the 'sitting room or living room' was the sitting room (drawing room) of Collinwood. When the TZ characters walked into 'entry' area, which included staircase, looked/s exactly as Collinwood.
Does anyone know if I'm correct?
Thanks,
Patti

PS, I don't know if it matters, but it was a 'teleplay', versus just a 'show'....

"The Secret Behind the Door" sounded so good, I immediately went to Amazon.
The closest I could get was a VHS of it; wonder why no DVD...?
Thanks for the info...and I never knew F Lang went to the set of Dark Shadows!!!

Since the "W" word was mentioned here, I'll ask:
In the 2012 movie (Depp/Burton),
Carolyn was a werewolf.
Was this just 'throwing we true fans a bone'??
I hope not  [ghost_tongue]

Calendar Events / Announcements '13 II / OT<F. Lang/Ministry of Fear
« on: July 01, 2013, 09:54:11 PM »
In the vein of Fritz Lang....
Since hearing about Doctor Mabuse, I've been Amazoning and/or IMDbing; I've learned Fritz Lang was one of the 'best' directors of D.M.
I went to Amazon, while trying to see when DM would come out; a recommendation was "Ministry of Fear".
It stars the wonderful Ray Milland (I genuinely love him!), so I ordered it.

Just watched it this weekend...ehh...okayish.

Very good cinematography, lighting, all this production side, and, as I mentioned, Ray Milland. The rest is sort of 'eh-ish'.

I did however watch the commentary at the end. One of the few quicky-shots was of Doctor Mabuse (just the title, not any movie part). The commentary was I believe by Joe McAllreny (sp).

He mentioned "The Man Who Knew Too Much" and "M" (a movie I've heard about, but never had a chance too see).

He also contrasted/compared Lang to Hitchcock...that was intersting.
I believe I only paid about $4-$5 + the standard $3.99 S&H; is worth that, but IMHO, not more.

If anyone really wants to borrow it, just shoot me a PM & we'll work something out.

Glad I got to see Ray Milland!!!

Current Talk '13 I / '90 Montage Pic Question
« on: June 29, 2013, 09:10:17 PM »
On 'one' of the Boards, the surrounding montage pics are of the '90-'91 series.
What role did Barbara Steele play?
Was Jean Simmons the Joan Bennett character (in real-time and 1795)?
Was there a Quentin type?

Thanks,

Patti

But, as I read my post, I'm guessing BS played the Julia Hoffman roles....

I've never watched R&I; that day, they (TNT) had a mini-marathon (as in they showed shows all day long).
I watched some of them, and IMHO, didn't care for them.
I believe I forgot about hunka-hunka being on & didn't turn on then.
(Thank God for re-runs!)

This is exciting news!
A few things:
First, I believe the article said, "A limited run, starting from their beginnings" (or close to that).
I wonder, after it has 'caught up' to 'current', what will happen now.
Second, does anyone know if they will still be 'broadcast' on Hulu/HP?

Thanks,

Patti

PS, the article stated they had heard from 'different platforms' (in regards to OLTL & AMC), so, WE, THE PEOPLE, were in fact heard!!!

MB & Gerard...I remember...and I was on these, waaayy more than 10 years ago.
(Alot of you will remember me having an amniocentesis with my now 11-year old son, so that was at least 12 years ago, and IIRC, by then, it was here: DSBoards...I'm going back before VantageNet & there's a few on her who I remember fondly): Midnite, Castlebee, Nancy, Sheenasma, Gothick, Bobubus, and more.
(Sorry if I mis-spelled anyone's name.)

I'm on IMDb right now, I see that Barbara last year filmed, "The Butterfly Room".

Has anyone seen this?

Also, currently filming "How to Catch a Monster".

GO BARBARA!!
I just hope from the title, it's not  some bizzare-o type 'monster movie'
For this past weekend, we had Epix for free.
Epix drive-in shows the cool EA Poe/Vincent Price movies.
Yesterday, they showed "Black Sunday", starring Barbara Steele.

What a friggin' hoot & 3/8ths!!!

Sooooo bad, sooooo good, capice?!?

Patti

P.S. would a question/comment on a 'star' of non-original series go here (CE/A) or on Main Board?
