Overseas grosses for this past weekend not updated at Box Office Mojo, so no idea how the film did in Venezuela this past weekend.
Worldwide gross still listed at $238 million. I may pull out my trusty calculator and do the math myself, country by country, to get the actual, accurate total.
I don't think Warners is sorry they made the film.

I was just over on Amazon checking on the progress of my order of the original DS films and I saw that the DVD/Blu-ray Combo for this film listed for $14.99.

I was at Best Buy last night, and saw they had the DVD/Blu-ray Combo on sale for $14.99.  Or, if you want just the Blu-ray itself, sans DVD, you can pay $5 more (it's only selling at the regular price)!

I just ordered the film from Amazon for $9.99. A guilty pleasure this film is for me, but I love it. It's so much fun!
I get a kick out of these guys who think they're so clean, when all the time they're trying to cover up their dirt.

I doubt this is news, but a friend just rented the movie via Red Box. So, that operation is carrying it.

He mentioned enjoying the art direction, especially the sets, and the fun Burton had with things those of us who lived through the early Seventies recalled from the era.  Julia's clown makeup got a shout-out, too.

I got a sneak peak at Best Buy's Black Friday ad, and the DS 2012 Blu-ray (single disc) will be $7.99 on Black Friday weekend.

Very interesting, KMR - thanks for the info.  [hall2_smiley]

Thanks heavens that's a deal on the single disc Blu-ray. After Best Buy and Amazon selling the DVD/Blu-ray Combo for $14.99 after most of us having already paid $22.99 for it, seeing it discounted to $7.99 for Black Friday might have made some fans suicidal!  [hall2_grin]

Box Office Mojo now has the October 26-28 and November 2-4 weekend charts posted for Venezuela. I'll defer to you if you'd like to post the info as you have been for us.  [hall2_wink]

I forgot that my DVR has a feature where you can check out the latest DVD/Blu-ray releases, read reviews, rate them, etc. I checked out the Depp/DS film and was pleasantly surprised to see that people have given it 4 out of 5 stars:

(Click here for a larger version.)

Though one thing that's very bizarre about the listing is that it lists William Hope before cast members like Michelle Pfeiffer, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller,  Chloë Moretz, etc. - actors who actually have much more significant roles. And who the hell did William Hope play, anyway? (I'm too lazy to look right now.  [hall2_wink])

Since it appears that I'm going to snowed in for a bit, I decided that I'd look him up. Mr. Hope has quite an impressive list of credits on imdb. He played the sheriff in Depp Shadows.

Speaking of the sheriff, I wonder why they didn't keep the name "Patterson" for him?

And yet more new screen caps and set ups have been posted to the film's Complete This Phrase / Fill In The Blank(s) board. Again, be careful if you haven't already seen the film because the topics may contain spoilers.  [hall2_wink]

Thanks, MB.
Depp Shadows just passed $1.7 million in Venezuela.
Not shabby!

Gotta get off my lazy tush & do the math so as to figure out the correct worldwide gross, which I'm sure is way over $250 million by now.

I keep forgetting to post this.  A couple of months ago the Sunday New York Times had an article on Tim Burton.  There was just barely a mention of DS, just the "tepid reaction" to it.  One of the subtitles was even "The Vampire's Bite," but no discussion of it there!  Anyway, I thought there might be interest in it.

Yeah, interesting. I didn't know a thing about TB before I read it. I like his story, an average american kid who grew up to make unique movies. Thanx for posting the link, Josette.
