Yes, it's almost that time again, time for Freeform's (formerly ABC Family) 13 Nights of Halloween, and once again the Depp/DS film is a part of the celebration. It will be running:

15 Iconic Scenes From Tim Burton Movies

Hmmm - I would have picked almost any other clip rather than the one they've chosen from DS (even though it does have its moments). But it's great to see DS included, and that's all that really matters, I suppose.  [ghost_wink]

And yet another list:

Tim Burton’s 17 Films Ranked — From Worst to Best

DS is "Burton's most underappreciated" - indeed...

It's very nice that more and more places are setting the record straight about the Depp/DS film:

Tim Burton’s Flop-Less Career
As a director, he’s one of the most consistent moneymakers.

Although, I still take issue with articles that report the film had a $150 million budget when that was only one guesstimate, and not even the most widely reported one at that. $100 million and $125 million were the most reported quesstimates - and as we've pointed out before, it's actually greatly likely that the real budget was between $100 and $125 million for the film to have already made a profit when Burton said in the NYT that it had.

It's also interesting that a few reports (citing just one source) are saying that Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children's opening foreign boxoffice outpaced what the Depp/DS film brought in for its opening - but MPHfPC brought in $36.5 million in foreign markets, whereas DS brought in $37.3 million, so how in the world is that outpacing DS?!  [hdscrt]

It will also be on Friday the 28th at 8:20 PM and Saturday the 29th at 2:35 PM.

And, on Syfi on Nov. 2 at 10 PM and Nov 3 at 6:30 PM.

I was hoping HBO would get it again - I had to get a different DVR and so lost the one I had and was hoping to record it again, but I don't want it from a station with commercials.

I laugh hystericallly every time I'm reminded of the moment from the film that immortalized in today's slideshow:

1972 - Barnabas: 'Never mind that.'

And not just because of how it relates to events in the film but because that answer was given on too many occasions to even count because it was the go to answer for so many characters when they didn't want to answer a question that was asked of them in practically every version of DS. Next to saying that something of some sort "must" happen, or someone saying they "don't understand," someone saying some variation of "never mind that" has to be the most often repeated words in the DS universe!!

And I just love how a bit of the red fabric clings to Barnabas' face, in a way that suggests a trickle of blood coming from his mouth.  Was he munching during his time in there?   [naughty]

Apparently the Depp/DS film recently has been and will be showing in Australia:

MOVIE: Dark Shadows

An Australian M(Films classified M (Mature) contain content of a moderate impact and are recommended for teenagers aged 15 years and over) rating is equivalent to our PG-13, only two years older...

From 00:15 to 02:05
00:15 - 02:05
