After I posted the above post yesterday it occurred to me that like the still of Thayer David/Strack in the cemetery, I wondered if any recognizable gravestones had been used in that still? So, I dug out my copy of the still and examined the gravestones with a magnifying glass. Most of them had no real identifying markings on them, but one definitely surprised me: PT Angelique's gravemarker is prominently placed right in the front on the far right side of the still!! In most of the scans of the still that I have, one can't really read it, but I did my own scan where it's definitely readable -
- and a shot of it from PT Ep #988 -
Now, I'm guessing the prominent placement of it was probably done as an inside joke. But pushing that aside, having a gravestone of a PT character who lived/died in the 20th century in a scene that takes place in the 19th century could have way too many twists/possible implications to even begin to speculate about. Though, because of the rain, at least it isn't really dicernible in the actual footage of the funeral flashback in the film, not even in the not color corrected, clearer than VHS, Laser version.
