If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of the first part of today's first quote -

Page 92/Scene 192 - Quentin: 'Where's Gerard?'

- and/or the second part of today's first quote -

Page 92/Scene 192 - Quentin: 'Where is he?'

- and/or today's second quote -

Page 92/Scene 192 - Carlotta: 'Doing what you know must be done.'

- check out -

Continuing Scene 192:

- this post and to learn about the differences in the dialogue, the descriptions and the directions, and about notes Grayson made in her script. Though it's shocking, shocking I tell you, that Grayson changes "must" to "has to"!! Didn't she realize that every incident of "must" is sacred?!

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of today's quote -

Page 93/Scene 192 - Quentin: 'I am not Charles Collins. I will not allow them to be hurt.'

- check out -

Concluding the current scene, beginning with Quentin's next reaction to Carlotta telling him that Gerard is doing what has to be done:

- this post and to learn about the differences in the dialogue, the descriptions and the directions, as well as the graphic I used for the original NoDS slideshow...

Scene 192 related stuff that I'd previously shared:

- and here's a scan of the actual still -

(Click here for a 471X700 version)

Continuing with Angelique on the stairs shots, here's a rare version:

(Click here for a 532X700 version)

...

And I know for certain that I have a still of the following rare version, but for the life of me I couldn't find it today even though I had in in my hand just last week when I was searching through things. But for now I'll post this magazine version -

(Click here for a 1037X826 version)

- and then replace it after I actually do come across the still again...

I still have yet to come across it. Though since originally posting the magazine version, I was able to do a better scan and I've replaced the original scan with it. And speaking of the magazine, the scan is also part of the Daytime TV article that I've shared a few rare photos from - and something I didn't do originally is share the caption the magazine provided, so here it is:

And the Daytime TV caption reads: "Lara Parker, as the spirit of Angelique,
appears on the stairs to the tower of
the mansion of Collinwood, her home."

...

The first time I saw this one was on the cover of the 1992 LA Fest Program:

Actually, my memory failed me there because where I first saw it was almost 20 years earlier as part of the NoDS Herald featured in the NoDS Pressbook:

(Click here for a 439X1100 version)

And I also forgot to post the actual still:

Before we deal with tomorrow's quote, there are actually four scenes that come between the end of Scene 192 and the beginning of tomorrow's Scene 197. So, check out -

Before we get into today's quote, we have several other scenes to deal with:

- to find out what the scenes are about, about how even though there's no scripted dialogue, there is ad-libbed dialogue, and about the differences in the descriptions and directions.

And speaking of that ad-libbed dialogue, and as I predicted -

Though I strongly suspect we can bet CBS cut Alex' references to Gerard as a "son of a bitch."  [easter_wink]

- though it was pretty much a foregone conclusion given we're talking about network TV in the '70s:

Cut from The CBS Late Movie showing:
  • ...
  • After Gerard drives his truck head on at Alex' car and only swerves away at the last minute but quickly turns the truck around to pursue Alex, CBS cut Alex calling Gerard a "son of a bitch." And almost 30 seconds of the action involving Gerard ramming the back of Alex' car and then pulling up alongside the car to ram it off the road is cut - though in that case I would imagine it was for time and nothing to do with standards and practices. Though who knows?  [idontknow]

More examples of how much better the day-for-night shots look in the Blu-ray release than they do in the VHS - a first batch from the car chase sequence:

If you want to learn about or refresh your memory concerning the background of yesterday's quote -

Page 94/Scene 197 - Claire: 'I heard something outside.'

- and/or today's quote -

Page 94/Scene 197 - Claire: 'Alex told me to shoot anyone who came through that door.'

- check out -

Moving on to the current scene:

- this post and to learn about the differences in the dialogue, including more unscripted bits, and about the differences with the descriptions and the directions - and check out -

I forgot to mention that in DC's script he's written...

- this post to learn about something DC added to his script...

I went back to check out Scene 183 (Tracy outside the Pool House) and Scene 187 (The Jenkins catch Quentin outside the Pool House, run to it) because I forgot to check those when they were being featured. Interestingly enough, most of those scenes play well with day-for night, though there are definityely moments that don't:

Before we get anywhere near how today's quote fits into the film, we need to check out this post because -

Scene 198 plays differently in the film from the way it's scripted, so first we're going to deal with it completely as scripted:

- and interestingly enough today's quote in the slideshow will come up in how Scene 198 is scripted but it doesn't come up in that scene in the film - but more on that once we get to Scene 199 - and also, check out -

When it comes to

- this post to learn about the differences in the dialogue, the descriptions and the directions and how Scene 198 actually plays in the film...
