There were many occasions when the color
red
appeared on
Dark Shadows
It's also the color of a lie.
Speaking of that scene, s is for scissors, which Jenny used to greet her sister-in-law. They were also useful for stabbing werewolves, cutting lottery slips, etc.

U is for underpants.
There was a scene (I think it might have been during Leviathan, when Maggie was rescued after Michael had caused her to be "stuck" in the hidden passages) when someone picked up Maggie and carried her, and with the short dresses they were wearing, a bit of her underpants showed.

V is for the goddess Venus played by Erica Fitz in the Schwarzenegger movie "Hercules in New York."

W is for
The Waltons
- a TV show which originally aired on CBS from 1972-1981. Ivor Francis (Dr. Franklin in DS episode #191) guest-starred in four episodes of
The Waltons
.

I think I
finally
found an entry!
X is for
xylonite
- the original name for
celluloid
. According to Dictionary.com,
celluloid
is a substance composed essentially of gun cotton and camphor, and when pure resembling ivory in texture and color, but variously colored to imitate coral, tortoise shell, amber, malachite, etc. It is used in the manufacture of jewelry and many small articles, as combs, brushes, collars, and cuffs.
It seems to me that
xylonite
must have been used to make
something
on DS.
Perhaps some of the Collins jewelery... or Josette's combs and/or brushes... or someone's collar and/or cuffs were made of
xylonite
.

Y is for
yare
- Ready; dexterous; eager; lively; quick to move. There were many characters on DS who were
yare
at one time or another. Angelique particularly comes to mind.

Z is for
zoetic
- pertaining to life. There were several occasions on DS when previously "dead" people became alive again, and vice-versa. Of course, the most notable example was Barnabas. You could say that when he changed from being a vampire to being "human", he started to lead a
zoetic
existence.
Conversely, when he reverted back to being a vampire, he was
not
living a
zoetic
existence.

The Alphabet Game has always required words that are tied to DS. Please submit answers with specific examples if their tie-in isn't obvious, which lately has not always been the case. If that isn't possible, then please leave it to someone else or perhaps allow the "game" to end. Thanks!
Since no example was provided in the answer given this morning other than that "it must have been mentioned at one time or another," another word is needed. So, next is A.

Picky, picky...
Sorry about that, Midnite.
Even though I don't post here as often as before, I don't want The Dark Shadows Alphabet Game to end. It's fun!
Actually, though, I think I recollect something about an episode, around the time when Prof. Stokes first appeared, when Barnabas and/or Julia mentioned the Prof.'s
address
, and Julia visited him for the first time. Actually, I think it was just the
street
that he lived on that was mentioned, and not the
exact
address
. I remember wondering how Julia was able to find his house without knowing the house number.
Also, I vaguely recall Joe's
address
being mentioned, around the time that he was a victim of Vampire Angelique. (Or, again, maybe it was just the street.)
Does this suffice for an entry for A?
If so... A is for
address
. If this entry works, Midnite, please feel free to edit this into an entry like the others instead of a response to your post.

B =
Burnham-by-the-Sea
. At one point in its history, Seaview Terrace, AKA Collinwood, was a girls' boarding school called
Burnham-by-the-Sea
. Nancy Barrett discusses this during her "DS on Location" featurette.

C is for
crayons
.
I believe I saw David and/or Amy color with
crayons
. I don't remember the exact episode, but I know they
drew
several times. I'm just not sure if I saw then use
crayons
. I hope they did, so this can suffice for an entry.

I'm not so sure about several times, but I recall Alex and Amy making Naga pics with them.
You know you can check your answers before you submit them by searching the Robservations, right?

Midnite, thanks for letting me know about searching Robservations.
I never thought of that! That's a great idea.
I will do that in the future. Sorry I've been such a nuisance with my cryptic entries.
