V is for view. There was a lovely view of the ocean from Widow's Hill. [hall_wink]

X is for xyresic -  razor sharp. I'm sure that there were many knives on DS that were xyresic. [hall_rolleyes]

Hey! I finally have another entry! [cheer]

Y is for
year-round - There were no obvious seasons on DS. Leaves were seen on the trees year-round. [ghost_wink]

Z is for ZOO

I don't *believe* anyone took David/Amy to the zoo.

VW, 1840 Quentin et al were kept in zoos (be they jail cells/gaols).

and there were quite a few more who needed to be kept in a zoo...

Did they never take David/Amy to a zoo? That's sad....

I think that's right, though Barnabas did offer to take them to the Boston Zoo, and so it's already on the list as a Z word.

A is for Australia, which David was supposed to be learning about in 1967.

Don't worry, I have a Z word! [ghost_wink] Z is for zoot suit - a flashy suit of extreme cut. I believe that all of Michael Stroka's characters (Aristede, Bruno, and Laszlo) wore zoot suits. [hall2_wink]

While Bruno's clothing could certainly be described as flashy or zooty (already on the list), I honestlycan't recall that he-- it would have been anachronistic to dress Laszlo or Aristede that way-- ever wore a zoot suit.

Oh, man! It's really hard to get a Z word! [ghost_angry] I found another one, though. How about this? [ghost_huh]

Z is for zen or zenned - To figure out something by meditation or by a sudden flash of enlightenment. Originally applied to bugs, but occasionally applied to problems of life in general. [hall2_smiley]

I think there were many times on DS when people had dreams which fortold the future or let them know the truth about something. One thing a person could have said when asked how he/she knew the answer was, "Oh, I
zenned it."  [hall2_grin]

I think also, a
zen moment might be the same thing as an "aha moment", when the answer just comes to you or things suddenly become very clear. This happened on DS all the time. [ghost_wink]

I hope this entry is acceptable, Midnite. I'm really trying here! [hall2_cheesy]

C is for COFFEE

There were a few mornings when Vicki and Carolyn were drinking coffee in the morning room/solarium.

(I saw coffee SHOP on the list, not COFFEE.)

E is for ebrious - Inclined to drink to excess; intoxicated; tipsy. There were many characters on DS who were ebrious at one time or another. [santa_cheesy]
