The Dark Shadows Alphabet Game

R is for Reprise - many episodes' closing segments are reprised in the following episodes' opening segment.

S is for S&H Green Stamps, which advertised on Dark Shadows.

T is for The Time Tunnel - a TV show which originally aired on ABC for only one season - from 1966-1967. It starred James Darren and Robert Colbert (I know, his name is really close to Robert Cobert - the composer - I used to get their names mixed up all the time) as Drs. Tony Newman and Doug Phillips, the unfortunate time travelers who never made it home. I was really angry  when it was cancelled, because I loved the show!!

Anyway .....  Here's the connection to DS ..... George Mitchell (Matthew Morgan #1) guest-starred as "Sitting Bull" in the "Massacre" episode (#8) - which originally aired on October 28, 1966.

U is for Unaware - In Episode #407, poor Barnabas, who was delirious and unaware that Josette was there, called out to her.

There were many other characters in different times on DS who were unaware about one thing or another. Another great example is the fact that in 1795, Angelique was living in the house practicing witchcraft, and for a long time, the other inhabitants were unaware that she was the witch.

V is for the vested interest in the future of the Collins family that Barnabas claimed to have, when he was talking to Quentin fairly early in 1897.

W is for wavering voice (Julia's) - The way Julia's voice is when she is in distress. Julia is so funny when that happens! I've heard several Julia impersonators who really make me laugh when they do that voice!

X is for xanthocomic, which means to be yellow haired. Carolyn was xanthocomic.

Y is for Dying Young - a movie which was released on June 21, 1991. David Selby (Quentin) played Richard Geddes in this movie.

Z is for Grand Duchess Zona of Lichtenburg - the character Joan Bennett (Elizabeth, et al) played in The Son of Monte Cristo, a movie which was released in 1940.

A is for Amos, the first name of a cannery employee, a zombie, and Carrie's dad.

C is for Cagney and Lacey - a TV show which originally aired on CBS from 1982-1988. John Karlen (Willie, et al) played Harvey Lacey, a role for which he won a Supporting Actor Emmy in 1986. Also, Gail Strickland (Dorcas Trilling) guest-starred in 2 episodes in 1982 and 1984, and Dennis Patrick (Paul Stoddard, Jason Mcguire) guest-starred in 1 episode in 1982.

D is for the Doughnuts at the coffeeshop.

E is for Endemic. Lycanthropy was endemic in the Collins's of Collinsport

F is for Frame - many paintings and photos were in frames on DS. The most memorable for me were the portraits of Quentin, Barnabas, Josette, and Angelique.
