The Dark Shadows Alphabet Game

G is for girl. Amy Jennings was a girl. Also: Sarah Collins and Hallie Stokes. I'm surprised this word hasn't been used yet!

H is for hungry - You could say that Barnabas and all the other vampires on DS were hungry for blood. Also, there were many instances on DS when people said they were hungry or one person asked another person if he/she was hungry.

I is for icy stare - The ghosts of Quentin Collins and Gerard Stiles and the Head of Judah Zachary all had an icy stare. Ooh! Scary!

J is for jocoserious - a combination of funny and serious. There were many jocoserious scenes on DS. They were jocoserious because the actors meant for them to be serious, but the audience found them to be quite funny, particularly bloopers.

K is for kinchin - a child. David Collins was a kinchin

L is for lamps. There were many lamps on DS.

M is for Master - i.e. Nicholas Blair's Master.

N is for negligee - a dressing gown or robe, usually of sheer fabric and having soft, flowing lines, worn by women. A negligee was worn by most, if not all, women on DS. I particularly like the ones worn by Angelique, Elizabeth, Josette, Carolyn, Maggie, and Vicki. I thought it was very stylish for them to wear robes which matched the gowns. They were all so colorful, too.

O is for obdurate - unmoved by persuasion, pity, or tender feelings; stubborn; unyielding. Adam was a very obdurate man after he was influenced by Nicholas.

P is for paleomnesia - good memory for events of the far past. Barnabas had paleomnesia .

Q is for querulist - one who complains.  Mrs. Johnson, when she was first on the show, was a querulist. Also, Minerva Trask and Abigail Collins.  Coincidentally, these characters were all very deftly played by Clarice Blackburn.

R is for rooster, which can be heard crowing at dawn, but only when vampires are about.

S is for splendid - Nicholas was known to have said the word splendid at one time or another. Most notably, in Episode #559, Nicholas said "Splendid!" to Vicki when [spoiler]he was pleased that she was responding to what he told her when he "allowed" her to "escape" from his house, making her think she was at the Old House, and his voice was Barnabas' voice.[/spoiler] Splendid is one of my favorite words. I've been wanting to make this entry for quite a while now, and finally got to do it!

T is for tacent - silent. Quentin's ghost was tacent at the begining, except when he laughed that evil laugh.  Zombie Quentin was tacent, also.

U is for uppity.  When Barnabas and Angelique told Joshua they were going to get married, he must have thought she was being uppity.
