Z is for zabernism - misuse of military authority; bullying. (This is another uncommon word I found at the Phrontistery) Nathan Forbes used zabernism against Noah Gifford in 1795 to get him to do what he wanted him to do.  [snow_rolleyes]

A is for army (of Adam and Eve's progeny), which Nicholas planned to present to his Master-- one of the more stupid plot devices on DS.

B is for Benjamin Collins.  Roger told Sheriff Patterson in episode 59 that the portrait in the foyer near the large table was of his great-uncle Benjamin Collins.

Zowie, the search went fast on the new host!  On the old one, I had given up altogether on doing searches.

D is for deadhouse - mortuary. This is another uncommon word found at the phrontistery website. I laughed when I saw this word! [snow_laugh] Of course, the deadhouse played a prominent role in Dark Shadows!  [snow_wink]

Isn't it great! On our previous host, one really had to make sure to search only certain boards where what was being looked for was most likely to be found because searches of all the boards took forever - if it didn't actually timeout.  [snow_mad]  But searching all the boards goes through really quickly now. And searching only certain boards goes through in the blink of an eye!

Of course, the deadhouse played a prominent role in Dark Shadows!  [snow_wink]
On DS it should have been called the undeadhouse[snow_laugh]

Sorry, we can't accept Falmouth simply because it's an old town on the coast of Maine (assuming that's the one you meant).  How about F is for Frenchman Bay?  It was mentioned in Shadows on the Wall as being near to the village of Collinsport.

G is for gloaming - the period between sunset and full night; dusk. When the gloaming occurred, Barnabas was soon to rise from his coffin. [Bat]  There were many scenes of the gloaming  on DS, especially during the opening voiceover. [snow_wink]

H is for harridan - sharp-tongued; scolding woman. Minerva Trask certainly was a harridan! [snow_wink]

I is for ingle - a fire in a room; a fireplace. [firedevil] There were many ingles on Dark Shadows. In fact, there was an ingle in practically every room in Collinwood! [snow_wink]

J is for juice - In DS episode #29, Burke served David a beverage which was made from 3 different kinds of  juice. [snow_wink]

K is for The Kaiser Aluminum Hour - a TV anthology drama which was broadcast live for just one season (1956-1957). Art Wallace, one of the writers of DS, wrote episode #22, "The Man Who Vanished", which aired on Saturday, May 7, 1957.  [snow_cheesy]

Of course, I was too young to remember this, since this was 2 days before my 2nd birthday! [snow_wink]

L is for Laramie - a TV Western which originally aired on NBC from 1959-1963. Dennis Patrick guest-starred in 7 episodes - in 1960, 1961, 1962, and 1963. That's every year that Laramie aired except one! [snow_wink]

I've had this entry for a while. In the last few rounds, I wasn't fast enough, and someone beat me to it until now! [snow_cheesy]

M is for movies. In episode #16, Joe and Carolyn were going to the movies; but, knowing that Burke would be there, Carolyn wanted to go to the Blue Whale instead. Joe became upset and left when Carolyn paid too much attention to Burke and invited him to go to the movies with them. I don't blame Joe for getting upset. They were on a date, and three's a crowd! Carolyn was a spoiled brat in those days. [snow_wink]

N is for National Velvet - a TV series which originally aired on NBC from 1960-1962. George Mitchell (Matthew #1) played Stone in the "Epidemic" episode of National Velvet in 1961. [snow_wink]
