Here's a wild idea for Roger Collins.  Kelsey Grahmer (sp?).   I think that I like Gerard's idea of Kathy Bates as Dr Julia.  Nothing says that an older woman can't fall in love with a younger man.  That part of the story doesn't need to be the main focal part of the movie since it's agreed that 12 to 25 year olds couldn't grasp that such a thing might happen.  [ghost_wub]

I'm a bit offended by that statement, as I fall in that age range and can grasp that fact completely.  [ghost_tongue2]

Did a large procession wave their torches as my head fell in the basket,
And was everybody dancing on the casket?

There's only one actor to play Quentin: HUGH JACKMAN!!!!!!!

I totally agree. But as far as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, not susan sarandon. [ghost_wacko]

how's about Tim Curry for Roger?   he can be foppish enough, and i bet at this stage in his life, he's really bald!      he can get Roger's Bitchery going, i bet.

The one thing I am hoping will happen, is that Jonathan Frid makes a cameo appearance in the movie.

I was reading his fan mail on his website and one fan asked him would he appear in the upcoming
movie. He said that he doesn't know.

Well, at least that's a step forward. Back when the '91 series was being done Frid was adamant that he'd given all that he ever would to DS. But that was also fairly close to the debacle with the footage that was used on MPI's 25th Anniversary tape, so there may have still been a bad taste in his mouth over that. Although, he also had no interest in appearing in the '04 pilot. But that was before he returned to the Fests last year. So...

I think John Rhys-Davies would be the perfect choice to play Professor Stokes/Ben Stokes.

I agree with others who have suggested
Charlize Theron as Angelique.

I think
Kelsey Grammar would be perfect as the pompous Roger/Joshua Collins.

I like the idea of
Kate Mulgrew playing Elizabeth Collins Stoddard/Naomi Collins.

I agree with others here that
Helena Bonham Carter would be an excellent choice to play Dr. Julia Hoffman.

I love the idea of
Jonathan Frid appearing in a cameo as the Eagle Hill Cemetery caretaker!

I'm not sure about the other parts. The ones I mentioned are the ones I feel most strongly about.

No offense ment GooberCollins.  Of course young people could grasp the idea of an older woman and younger man hence the Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher relationship.  [ghost_smiley]

It's fine. I just find it a little offensive that many people seem to feel that the 12-25 year old audience only cares about special effects and can't grasp basic concepts like that properly. Don't worry about it, though.

So what happened on that tape that "left a bad taste in his mouth?"

Back on topic, what about Sarah Michelle Gellar for Angelique? She's physically right for the part, in both age and appearance, and she's shown that she can play bitchy with her time on All My Children.

I recently saw Gillian Anderson in Bleak House as Lady Dedlock.  She was excellent in that role.

Yes, she's already played the dignified lady of the house very well, so she's a good choice for Elizabeth.
