I like the capture of the aerial shot with the large tent and the breed judging tent next to it. I had an idea where they where but it confirms they were across from the greenhouse. Cool. I wonder how many people read our Dark Shadow club commemorative bricks we have in the courtyard while taking the dogs for walks. I also chuckled over the shot of the dog sitting on the bench in front of the mansion. I believe it's the same bench Roger Davis stood on when he was giving us a talk about the property so we could hear him better ... and him being chastised by a Lyndhurst volunteer for doing so. LOL.

V: If that's from David, I would soak it in water first.

D H to himself: Mom was sure I was going to get the part on Lost In Space...

You posted a lot of great shots MB. Wonder if Lyndhurst could put them in a booklet and sell them in their gift shop?

D: Hey Joe, wanna see what goes on in Carolyn's bedroom? Next show starts in 5 minutes...

E: No David, I don't care what your crystal ball told you...  I never heard of anybody named Jason digging around our basement.

V: Well David, you drew them the right size but they need to be closer together on the chest ...

Found an article describing how bad things have been for the Tarrytown hotels during covid .

https://westchestermagazine.com/life-style/business/covid-hotel-industry/

It describes how messy things got between Hilton and Doubletree with lawsuits on both sides. Probably explains the recent  hotel name change.

What was nice about the diner was that it was open 24 hrs, so you wouldn't miss out on any fest activities. Plus it had a huge menu. I considered the hotel dining options to be far more overpriced - only ate there for the banquet. I too did notice how dark it was MB. Course we always did manage to commandeer the bar area after closing for a hang out area. LOL.

I got curious and looked up our old DS hotel in Tarrytown. It was most of the times we were there the Tarrytown Hilton, then became the Doubletree ... now it is called the Sleepy Hollow Hotel and Conference Center. I couldn't help but wonder after all the years of dealing with a hotel full of Dark Shadow people how they felt being taken over by Westminster dogs and dog owners ..Lol. Really miss those fun times ..but wouldn't be the same with the diner across the street torn down to make room for the car dealer.   [cryg]

I was pleasantly surprised how much time was spent discussing Lyndhurst, the Gould family and Sleepy Hollow. Plus all the various cut aways before commercials of the grounds. I saw quick shots of the greenhouse and rose cottage.  It was cool seeing the dogs getting judged and hauling ass on their obstacle course  knowing we've walked those grounds many times. Also, I believe this was the first time I had seen Lyndhurst lit up after dark. It looked stunning!  Great captures MB.

There will also be more coverage.. The rest of Best of Breeds will be on Sunday at 1:30 pm on FS -1 and the rest of Best in Groups and the Best in Show will be on Fox starting at 7pm. They also have live streaming on now at https://westminsterkennelclub.org. I saw they had small dogs running an obstacle course inside a tent on the Lyndhurst lawn.

The Best of Breeds will be on FS-2 at 1pm, the Agility Competition will be on Fox at 5pm, and the actual competition will begin with the pre show starting at 7:30pm on FS-1. Pretty cool!
