My goodness, does that bring back memories! I remember when Vampirella hit the scene while Dark Shadows was popular. They even had "action figures" you could purchase (four of them: Vampirella, in her skimpy costume; the "Evil Scientist;" "the "Monster," and "the Victim." The last one looked remarkably like Roxeanne. You could also purchase "play kits" that consisted primarily of torture chambers for the "Evil Scientist," the "Monster," and Vampirella to put the "Victim" into. It was all very sexist when you thought about it. It was marketed in magazines and in stores (I remember seeing all the action figures and play sets in a Montgomery Wards) as: "Rated X: For X-citement!"

Of course, a DS-Vampirella cross-over would be difficult. I use to purchase Vampirella comic books (just as I did DS comic books), and she's actually a space alien, from the planet "Draculan," where the "rivers of blood ran dry" so she and a few survivors migrated to Earth.

Well, that used to be her origin. In recent years, Vampirella has reimagined/rebooted/reinvented as the white sheep daughter of one of hell's resident demons. Seems mommie dearest has had some second thoughts about all this evil stuff and sends Vampirella out to undo the whole mess. As before, Vampirella, like Barnabas, suffers enormous vampire angst when she feeds. Unless it's a real nasty s.o.b., of course. Draculon still sort of exists, except it's no longer a planet. It's more like one of hell's suburbs

I popped into the local comic shop and asked them to put this aside for me every month. I'm glad Stuart is working on it since he's well-versed in the DS mythos. I just hope the interior artwork is decent. It's about time we have a DS comic that continues the original series.

Anyone know where to buy these online that's not ebay? I am currently in the middle of buttf**k Nowhere, New Mexico, and there isn't a comic book shop (or anything much else for that matter) within 100 miles of me.

I found the shipping price from the publisher too much (I think it was $6.00 per order or something) & couldn't find the first issue for sale at Midtown, although they DID have the details up for issue #3:
