Ahhhh, Bob, this is one of those trick questions that can't really be answered, right? Like "Will a lion roar in the forest if he hath no prey?"

I feel the only answer for this question would be, the female suckface and Ned deserve each other. And they have my blessing as long as in their connubial bliss they disappear completely.

Thank you, thank you. These little moments with great guffaws really brighten up my day.

Oh, I would pick the good Professor any day. (For one thing, I am not wanting to throw anything at the tv!) He is so self assured and confident, even in the face of not being greatly effectual. Then he gets a zinger in, usually at Julia's expense. Can you imagine the bickering these two could have been capable of as a long term couple?

Well, I agree that Naggie is in a dead end situation. I'm not sure how much better off she'd be somewhere else though, what career options do you think she'd have? She could be a stripper, or better yet, a go go dancer on Hullabaloo! At least she has people who care about her in Collinsland. In the big city she will be vulnerable to any old demon from hell in a grey suit without anyone to care!

I think David's problems go WAYYY beyond what homework will cure, but Vicky had at least earned his respect and he made a little more effort for her sake. I don't Naggie's bleating is making much headway, but it IS quite difficult to work with a possessed child. And I ought to know!

Ok, I'll play. Consistent with my contrary nature, I will pick Naggie. (I was going to BEFORE I read I was out-numbered, nyeah...) Not because she is such a grapefruit, but because she is the newest to the house. I consider living at Collinwood to be a real detriment to anyone, and the worse for the length of residence.

Of course, I would believe Mrs. Johnson also. What's not to believe from a spy turned loyalty itself? Also, she is the next to newest person currently residing at Collinwood, I think. Julia might have her beat though. Repressed hysteric, my eye!

LOL! But, I can tell you that even with all those things happening my kids would be asleep at three in the a.m.!

I liked David's response, "I wasn't tired." As though, sleeping is an option only to be used when one is especially exhausted. Where could he have gotten that idea? A cousin who was in and out of Collinwood at any hour of the night. Julia, who NEVER sleeps, because when she does she gets caught in that horrid nightie. And what was Naggie doing checking on the house at 3 a.m. anyway? Does she get up to check on the kids every hour? (If she did, she would already know that they don't sleep).

The ones that used to crack me up were Vicky and her bad dreams. She had already been to sleep and gotten back up and there was ALWAYS someone who hadn't even gone to bed yet! Did she go to bed at 9 p.m. or did they stay up until the wee hours?

I don't remember the shows airing now so a lot of this is new to me.  Just WHAT is up with Quentin??  What is he trying to accomplish?

My daughter's explanation:  "he has some unresolved issues".   LOL  Yeah -- okay.
I mean, I thought he was haunting David because of his love for Jamison.  Well, all he does is kill people, cause trouble, scare the crap out of the kids, and treat David like shit.  WHY??

Why did he want to poison Chris?  What did he want with the pentagram?
I usually don't bother even wondering about such things on the show - it's a waste of time.
BUT...I can't make sense of Mr. Q-Ghost's motivation.

I wanna smack him!

-CLC  [smash]

Well, I HAVE seen it before and I don't understand any better than you. I think we can sum it up with "He's dead and he's PISSED OFF!" The pentagram he wanted, because he doesn't want to be identified. He hates the Collins because of what they did to him. (Which I really don't remember, to tell you the truth). Why he wants to kill his own descendant, I have no idea. I don't think it is to spare him the misery.

Spoiler:

It is amazing how immortality has such an improving effect on his personality! Whew!

I realized today that no matter how much my life sucks, at least I DON'T have Ned Stuart walking in the door and refusing to leave! And it gave me a lot to be grateful for, too. That whole scene is so ridiculous anyway. I mean NOONE enters someone's home and intends to wait for hours for them to return, at least not in those circumstances. And telling Julia and Barney it's OK for them to go! Uh, yeah, right.  (Alternate reality: they leave and Chris comes home to a stripped bare place. Julia and Barney are astonished and try to explain, "But Chris, he SAID he knew you! He said it was OK!")

I must say that I find Barney's wanting to help Chris quite touching. This is the first thing he has done that has nothing in it for him.  (I don't think getting all fired up about helping the Collinses counts.) It is a pleasant change that Barney isn't  out for anything and he hasn't tried to kill Naggie or risk her life in quite a while even! It is a good thing we have a couple of new supernatural beings around or it would be getting dull.

Well, it is really hard, because I love them all. But, when Willie was first bitten by Barney and still staying at Collinwood...Jason's concern for his friend was quite touching. I also liked the suspicious Jason when he discovered that Willie had been asking about the family history!

DC probably had him under contract so he figured he might as well use him.  We now have to live with that mistake for eternity.

Do you think he was? I wouldn't have thought so, but I don't understand all the specifics. So the main characters were paid whether they were on or not? And then, what would be the purpose of keeping the daily cast at 6 or under?

In one interview (I think it was DS Special Edition) DC is laughing about how often he would bring back an actor that he liked. Roger Davis was the example he used. My guess is that Roger was quite the ass kisser.

Kuanyin,

Do you remember the game called pick-up-sticks?

Well, YES, now that you mention it! I wouldn't have remembered them without your asking though. WHAT was the purpose of them? I tried to play them, just as I TRIED jacks/jax/whatever, but the whole thing was just...lame. I am definately not one for telling my kids how much better my childhood was. Give me their Playstation 2 anyday.

I think they were quite progressive having David be homicidal without being possessed! Though I am also glad that they toned the character down some.

I have to agree that it would have been too disturbing for daytime tv at the time. The little girl in Interview came to my mind also. Very effective, but many people HATED the movie for it.

They never advertise the show in ANY way, and when people are off work and might have found it while channel surfing, they remove the possibility. It pisses me off. I know there are a LOT of old fans who have no idea that it is being rebroadcast, and they will remain in ignorance. I know, I am grateful it is shown at all, but I think a little plug now and again on their own channel would cost them nothing and pay off in terms of advertising worth.

So true!  This is a kid who, at 9, was rigging brakes.  But what bugs me is that by the time we see him doing these normal childhood things, he seems too old for them.  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I sure wasn't interested in jax or darts or hide-and-seek then, and David Henesy is a year younger than me.  (I would still build a mean house of cards, though. ;))

I think I am a year or two older than Henesy if I remember right. I can't swear about other parts of the country, but I don't recall any kids actually playing with jacks at all. OK, they still made them, and I remember I did HAVE some. But they were kind of an historical oddity, very much along the lines of marbles. My kids wouldn't even know what the heck they are, I knew, but didn't care.

What was the good Doctor's name who met his demise after telling Laura Collins he was going to expose her?

BTW, does this soap opera tendency drive anyone else nuts? If I knew a phoenix/vampire/werewolf/ghost or even just a plain every day murderer, I would smile politely and try to get away ASAP. No way would I be blabbing my mouth off about how I'm going to tell the world!
