Johnny Depp Barnabas Collins
Julianne Moore as Dr Jullia Hoffman
Joan Allen as Elizabeth Stoddard
Aaron Eckhart as Roger Collins
Matthew McConaughey as Burke Devlin
Lindsey Lohan as Angelique
Hillary Duff as Vitoria Winters
Heath Leger as Joe Haskell
Scarlet Johansen as Carolyn Stoddard
Shia LaBeouf as Willie Loomis
Evan Rachel Wood as Maggie Evans
John Goodman as Sam Evans
Here's my take on these choices:
Depp good
Moore-good (although I prefer someone less attractive--not ugly, but not overly good looking either) I recently stated in an email to friends that perhaps a 180 degree change is needed here and they could give us a man named JULIAN and make him gay and pining for Barnabas. That could be very interesting. The could get someone like Jude Law maybe...
Allen-good, can definitely see her in that role!
Eckart-WAY too young for Roger, maybe Joe Haskell though...
McConaughey-good, if he can lose his accent for the role, don't think Burke was southern
Lohan-no way, she hasn't got the talent, or CLASS, to pull it off. Sorry. I'd say the chick from Lost who plays Juliette (hey she's a deceitful bitch on that show, why not?!)
Duff-maybe, haven't seen her in too much...
Leger-could work if Eckart not available (now all we need is Jake Gyllanhall for a true Brokeback Shadows, LOL!)
Johansen-hmmm, maybe make her Vickie and have Duff in this role instead...
LaBeouf-don't know him so I'd say put Ledger here and leave Eckart in the Haskell role.
Wood-don't know her either, how about Rachel McAdams instead?
John Goodman-good choice, could also see him as either Sheriff Patterson or Stokes.
Now a couple additions:
Freddie Highmore (played Charlie in 'Charlie & the Chocolate Factory) as David (he's 15 so David could be a troubled teen instead of a troubled boy--much more dangerous & sinister I think to have a deranged teen running around Collinwood)
Anna Sophia Robb (was Violet in 'Charlie & the Choc. Factory) as Amy (she's 14 so it's perfect)
Jason Issacs-Roger (sans his Brit accent)
