The blindness issue occurred to me, but I didn't want to chastise the writers when they actually got it right. It surprises me that they did, and I don't know if they knew it. But people who are suddenly disabled do not have the disability in their dreams. Christopher Reeve has commented on that.   8)

But, goodness, yes, the way he was catterwalling was ridiculous. Then, he sees Maggie in a veil, we can see it's her from behind, but he can't tell it is her from the front? Oh puhleeeeeeeze.

What is your favorite? I'm asking, and drawing a blank about my own answer. I'm sure that I'll get reminded in your answers though.  I can tell you what I HAVEN'T liked though. Have seen the Dracula movie with Bela Lugosi (was it the first one?) and found it pretty darn bad. Sorry, I know some here like it very much, but I was quite disappointed. And I HATED "Shadow of the Vampire" with Willem Dafoe. I want a traditional vampire, not what one might be like if there really were such a disgusting thing.

I really liked "The Lost Boys" a lot at the time. Recently saw most of it on tv and it held up quite well, was as good as I remembered. Haven't seen "An American Werewolf in London" in ages, but it was very good to me then. I'm looking forward to seeing "Rosemary's Baby" again, it's on my Netflix dvd list. It may not belong in this list, but it IS a great movie.

I've heard mixed things about "Blade" and "Blade II". What did those who have seen them think?

Can't remember who used to call her that? The girl is in serious trouble. She ends one episode telling Willie she will NEVER let up on finding out about that terrible creature that she hates so intensely.....then it's like, you know, it was all a misunderstanding, Pop thought he wanted to hurt me. HELLO??? What part of "kill Maggie" do you think Pop misunderstood? Then she actually gets it right and says that it would have been OK if SHE hadn't flipped out and tried to hit Adam with a hammer.

And little Miss "I can't lie to people even to save my life when I'm a time traveler" Winters sure didn't have any trouble lying to Professor Stokes, now did she?

And I would have thought they could put up a sign that DIDN'T look like felt letters on a felt board. Brought back old sunday school memories.

Can you believe the itty bitty chisel and hammer he was using? No WONDER he didn't want to do it. Get the man a sledgehammer!

Don'cha think they could have gotten Willie a sledgehammer? Man, that little chisel and hammer didn't look very efficient. No wonder he wasn't into the job!

Oh, this is a toughie. I remember when I was watching this last run and first saw the episode where Angie swept through the door much to Barney's dismay. She ruled the show from the first moment!

Like? Ben Stokes. Enjoy? Nathan Forbes. He is wonderfully sexy in a way that Joe would never be.

This darn post was keeping me awake last night! But, I did get it figured out. While I love Liam Neeson and think he would be more than fine,  Russell Crowe would be PERFECT as Barney. Christian Slater would get Willie just right. Oh, and Joseph Fiennes as Quentin! I like the idea of Katie Holmes as Maggie, though I wouldn't mind new ingenues in the girls' roles in keeping with DS tradition.

Actually, I prefer the idea of a second generation and bringing some of the original cast back as the older generation. But it IS fun to recast the old crew.

Well, errr, yes, Joe WAS a flaming you know what today. It is rather nice to see him being something other than bland ol'Joe! And I will defend him somewhat. His experience with Willie has not been good. He told Willie he'd kill him if he came near Maggie, and he ONLY punched him! And Maggie is acting oddly, though I agree that she didn't deserve the ultimatum she got.

As for Maggie with Adam from her perspective: Never seen this guy before. He walks in and says Willie is bad. OHMIGOSH! A really tall man! AND he has BAD SKIN?! AAAAIIIIIIEEEEE!!!!!! [scrm]

Yes, today's episodes were really classic. I was marvelling at the beauty of the character and the performance also. We typically like to pick apart the things that are wrong and it IS fun to do that. But today had me reflecting on how much is RIGHT with DS and why it is still popular!

Well, I'm certain that you have by now noticed the "makeover" death has done for Jeremiah! I was relieved to see that the pop out eyeball had healed somewhat though. It seems the hereafter changes some people WAY more than others.... :P

It is definately NOT just you! I can't get over what a different presence he has as Tony, and I like it VERY much. If you had only seen him as a Trask, you wouldn't even believe it.

I have THIS to say about garters and hose. Those who find them sexy NEVER had to sit on hard wooden seats in them and then had to PRY them out of their thighs at the end of the day!

My guess for pantyhose would be that they got affordable and caught on about 1970. I remember a couple of years in which the price was prohibitive. And who could forget Joe Namath advertising them?  ::)

Oh yeah, I despise the character of Adam. But, I in no way blame Rodan for that. I don't get this feeling with every part I dislike, but with Adam I think Rodan was playing him exactly as he was told to. Part of it is the lameness of taking such a familiar story, right down to the kindly blind man who befriends him. And even in the movies, you only get about an hour and half of the monster. With serial t.v. we can have him go on whining about fire and being hurt FOREVER. Eccckkk.

Isn't it wonderful the effect blindness has had on Sam? It has taken the local drunk who is regularly nasty and emotionally abusive to his daughter (whose perkiness would grate on me too, give him that) and turned him in a kindly, tolerant dogooder. Geez, if we had only known what to do to him sooner!

Oh, and this is another topic completely BUT, watching this part of the show over again as confirmed for me what I suspected before. Professor Stokes KNOWS about Barnabas. It doesn't matter that he was never confided in, he knew and Julia/Barney knew he knew. I am really appreciating the subtlety of their relationship.
