Well, I guess you know he is in trouble when his warmest, closest relationship is with Mrs. Johnson! (She did so very well with her own son and you can't even imagine her knowing what a hug IS)....

Roger doesn't have much warmth to give him, he manages on occasion, but he also ignores him repeatedly off and ON screen. I still think ol' Rog needs me in his life!

Well, the closest would be Julia-though noone ever did a double take about it....I have her fine, thin hair and a couple of years ago, I had the exact same red, short hairstyle. (Didn't seem to go over real big with anyone but me). I wish I was as thin or as striking as she, but I am now about the same age as she was then.

I don't think logic has ever been Barney's strong point. How about when he was gloating over beating Cassy and OF COURSE, had to send Julia down to the basement, because OF COURSE there couldn't be a problem?!  :P Would he listen to the woman? Noooooooo.....

Julia installs Barnabas at Wyndcliff to get him away from vampire Angelique. [batang]

It must have been handy to have your very own mental facility!  Especially since it didn't require any actual work.

Did anyone else dig Maggie's groovy threads on Friday? OH MAN, did that take me back in time! I saw it and blurted out "Barnaby Street!" I think she did look cute, and the colors were quite nice. For some reason Maggie gets to be the trendy one.

Current Talk '02 I / Joe/Nathan Forbes
« on: June 21, 2002, 06:52:21 AM »
I should be old enough to know better. I would have sworn that I was over that "bad boy" thing that most of us women have when we are younger. I guess I'm not.

Joe does nothing for me. It is hard to think of Joe as anything but a Ken doll. Nathan Forbes,  well, that is another story. I love his smirk, his swagger, the look in his eyes..... :-*

I can't get over what a difference the role makes for me. Obviously, Joel Crothers was a very handsome man. But the player Nathan wins out in the appealing category everytime. Even when Joe is being a jerk, it isn't the same.

P.S. I am still reading the Collected Ghost Stories of E.F. Benson, Rainey, and "The Bus Conductor" just earned most creepy replacing "The Thing in the Hall"

"There's room for one more . . . " (shivering)

I love E.F. Benson's Lucia books! I will have to pay a visit to the library web site to put a hold on his ghost stories. Thanks for the tip!

And the upcoming "Possession" (again, with Paltrow) based on the novel by A.S. Byatt should be another interesting look at the Victorian period through the eyes of two 20th-century characters.

Oh, you've mentioned one of my top ten favorite books!I do SO hope they do a good job with it. Paltrow doesn't generally associate herself with poor productions, so that is hopeful. I never did see her "Great Expectations", guess I will have to rent it. There have been several updates on classics that I have really enjoyed, such as "Clueless" and "Ten Things I Hate About You". Thought "O" was alright too.

Ummmm, weren't those state of the art special effects? Looked pretty good compared to Lost in Space!

#2.....does anyone else want to slap Vicky Winters senseless for putting up with the crap Jeff Clark was dishing out today?

I can honestly say that Vicky hardly has a moment anymore that I don't want to slap her! But not senseless, it's too late for that. I want to slap some sense INTO her!

I too enjoyed the car honk. And the scene on Friday (I think) that Barney was using the telephone as Julia gave him the phone number. I expected him to pick it up and say "Now, HOW do I use this?" Instead, he asked for the number. It was very commonplace, and that made it rather weird.

It may have been normal for the others to frequent the Blue Whale, but it struck me very strangely when Barney first did. He never seems quite to fit in anywhere other than Collinwood or the Old House.

Ummm, not much! Want to be cremated and don't really care about "taking something with me". Don't like to see lots of money spent on non-essentials at a funeral either. Flowers are fine, they smell nice and I like flowers anyway. But hate the concept of spending thousands on a casket!

Current Talk '02 I / Adam, had 'em
« on: June 14, 2002, 03:04:37 AM »
I just want to set the story straight. Adam is NOT childlike. Babies have more understanding in their eyes. Toddlers may lurch around a bit, but they certainly don't act like that when they are hurt. My bipolar son does a fair Adam impersonation when he is being impossible, but it has taken him 8 years to get that bad. He was much better as an even younger child.

Now, Adam and his vengeful nature, overiding emotions, and lack of intellectual process to sort out his feelings DO remind me of something. I hesitate to say it because it will sound so bad, and I really don't mean it that way. I used to work with mentally retarded adults and some of them are just that way. Not all by any means, some were just the sweetest people you could meet. But, even one of the sweet ones erupted in Adam-like violence once when he was upset. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it. Now, that I'm thinking about it, the incident was VERY much like Adam.

"Motel Hell"!!! Now, THAT was a movie! A really bad, but quite enjoyable movie, GREAT example. Another one I loved was "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".
