Man, the leviathans weren't that bad. I guess its becuz we watch 2 DS episodes a day and it goes by twice as fast as in 1970. Seriously, if you were a "real" soap viewer, you would never stop watchin your soap in sucha short time and the leviathans were on for like 4 months and it did get better as they showed less of the antique shop and more of the main characters. It's sad that so many people just gave up on DS. Patience is a virtue - (that was so trite but i had to say that)

i totally agree!!! :)
some of my favorite shows have had lame moments
but you just wait for the next story! ;)

also ROTFLMAO over the Shemp comment that was too funny and true!
and agree with The Quentin/Amanda observations!
If she was such a big star as Olivia why didn't Quentin find her
or was she a legend only in her own mind?LOL

At least Carolyn evidently did get laid. I suppose that's something . . .

And so it begins. The horror that is 1970 PT.

Edited because: commas are our friends

somehow i don't picture Jeb being all that good which could really explain her behavior in 1995!
The horror of that!

In the mean time I'll try to keep an open mind about PT despite your warnings.

As well you should (because, as I've mentioned already, I LOVE 1970PT [wink2]). But I will say this, when it comes to both 1970PT and 1841PT, it seems there's not much middle ground - fans tend to either accept the concept and enjoy the ride or they reject it outright.
i never got into  the PT thing! just too weird for me
maybe i'm afraid my PT counterpart would be 20 lbs thinner,
rich and well....

Now that you mention it, Jennifer, there's alot of the pre-schooler in Jeb......

He's afraid of ghosts......he's terrifed of werewolves......he's frightened by a shadow......and I'll bet you can't get him in a bathtub either!!!

And this was going to take over the world?  ::)

I'm surprised Nicky Blair hasn't been busted back to Private in Hell's Legions.  :P

heehee so true but i think my son might be a tad smarter than Jeb(let's hope anyway)he also has a tad more control than Jeb and i think would have laughed at that shadow! He will graduate next week from preschool so already he is ahead of Jeb[lghy]
Nick was poor judge of talent wasn't he? first Adam then Jeb! wow he could run a political party!  ;)

I agree that the new chat setup is very cool.

Well, we can take requests for the day, though right now I can't give any guestimation as to how long it'll be-- as you know Dom is offline, and since the chats are moderated and can last 4 hours or more, it won't happen til a time that I'm not the only full-time moderator.  Sorry to disappoint.

i know i need one but you need a vacation dear too! 8)[sun]

Current Talk '03 I / Re:And I've waited so long, Willie......
« on: June 04, 2003, 12:57:09 PM »
I've said this countless times before, but the way Quentin is misused during Leviathans is one of the biggest blunders DS ever committed! So much rich potential for story was completely abandoned in favor of all this Leviathans-attempt-to-take-over-the-world foolishness. ::) And don't even get me started on what a waste it was not to have deeply explored the Quentin/Chris relationship and their respective curses (or is that curse?)...

i agree it was a boring story and for me i want to run from the room every time i hear Jeb's voice. they could have explored so much more with the the Quentin/Chris angle!

jennifer

Current Talk '03 I / Re:Admit it Barnabas.....you love her.
« on: June 03, 2003, 03:35:59 AM »
I don't think Barnabas ever loved Angelique.  The whole point of their relationship in terms of the story was that she was a quick, easy lay who came back to haunt him in spades
sort of Jessica w. and Clint in Play Misty for Me maybe barnabas should have pushed Angelique over a cliff!.

I do think his "declaration of love" in 1840 makes a weird kind of sense for the character.  He basically suffers from some sort of romantic ADHD--I have no idea what a qualified counselor would call it, but it's sort of like the more helpless and pouty the girl, the more Barnabas "loves" her.
maybe it was all those years cooped up in a coffin i'd like to see a counselor work with that!

In recent years I've come to think it would be cruel to think of Julia yoked to this befuddled boor for the remainder of her years.  I do love Connie's vision of a romantic triangle between Barnabas, Julia and Quentin a few years down the line from the end of the series.  In real life, what probably would have happened is that everyone else would have deserted poor old Barn except for Willie.  He would have stayed on, keeping the coffin hinges oiled and the bats out of the belfry.  or so I've thought.

i like the idea of J with the Jennings boys living on some island
or is that my dream! ;)
