Elizabeth and Mrs. J talk about Vickie and how she seems to court disaster. Carolyn is missing also, but in reality is on a secret date with Burke. He is sweet talking her and plying her with brandy. Burke learns Vickie is supposed to be in Bangor with Frank. He is visibly upset. Joe arrives and punches Burke over Carolyn barefoot on the couch. Burke learns Vickie is missing rushes to Collinwood where a disgusted Elizabeth sends Carolyn to her room. Joe discovers Vickie’s bag and they know she never left.
