I’d have said, “ I hope you like water. Taps in the kitchen.” Of course, Sam being the alcoholic that he is, won’t want to drink alone. Burke then wants to talk about the manslaughter case despite no one else wanting to discuss it. Burke reveals that at some point on the drunken drive, Roger took over driving and he killed the guy. Sam goes into the kitchen and flees the disastrous dinner party. Burke thinks Sam killed Malloy.
Sam goes to the Hotel and tries to get the letter from Wells. No go, must give it to Maggie. Burke learns from the chatty Wells, that Sam was at the hotel. Will Maggie ever have another dinner party? Will anyone want to come?
