UPS still says they don't even have possession of the package yet. Hopefully that's just because they haven't had the chance to update the progress. But who knows?

At this point I would say that's not what the situation was because UPS is still saying they're not in possession of the package. However, if it's a case that Helene and/or Milton is causing conditions in Georgia (where the seller is located) that prevent the package getting to UPS or UPS picking it up, I can't say anything about that...

Still last night things were saying the package would be delivered today even though UPS was still reporting it didn't have possession of the package. However, today things have changed. UPS is now reporting that it has the package (as of 3:50pm, even though that wasn't reported yesterday) and it should be delivered on the 16th. I suppose I'll see...

But if that is correct, I should be quite grateful because the seller's site is now reporting that due to damage from hurricane Helene, some orders could be delayed 1 to 2 weeks. That delay probably didn't have an effect on my order because it had already been boxed, a mailing label had already been created, and it was already ready for UPS.

It was indeed delivered on time today. I snapped the pieces together and staged this photo in front of my TV with one of the sample photos from the Rise 3D Builds site on display:

(Click here for a 1586X2048 version)

I'm actually not sure if I want to paint it because I have an idea for how I want to display it. If that idea works out, I'll post a photo. But what I have in mind will look best at night...

I did some experimenting and I got things pretty closed to how I envisioned the model being displayed:

(Click here for a 1536X2048 version)

Even though the model is in the pose that Angelique stikes in still #39 in the NoDS Editor's Portfolio, I wanted to go with something like her ghostly image in the A Poster. The end result isn't perfect, but I'm pleased...

Plus, it saves me having to paint...

That looks SENSATIONAL, MB!! The atmospheric lighting is perfect and works so well! I also like that you chose to leave it unpainted. It looks really cool.
Glad it finally came in!
I wonder if they'll do more DS models.

I'm extremely impressed with the model

I am, too. I'd read on the Rise 3D Builds site that "for most models it is shipped in parts for easier packing and painting" so I wondered just how many pieces Angelique was going to come in. But I was surprised when it was only 4 -

Click here for a 2048X1536 version.

- and as I mentioned in an earlier post, the pieces simply snap together. (I do have to say, though, that having Angelique's pieces as her head/upper torso and her body immediately made me thing of assembling the Borg Queen in the various Start Trek series and movies - I'm sure other ST fans will relate.  [ghost_wink] [ghost_grin]) - and things couldn't have been more carefully packaged because not only was each piece put in its own bubble wrap bag, but the box they were put in was also put in a bubble wrap bag - and then the box was surrounded by tons of paper to keep it from shifting in the box that it was shipped in - plus they put three "PLease handle with care - FRAGILE" stickers on that box.

Believe it or not it was all possible simply because I was in a store last month and saw this for sale:

Click here for a 917X757 version.

I bought it with the idea of using the lights to accent some of my Halloween decorations around the house, but then the idea of using some of them to showcase the Angelique model came to mind. And after a bit of experimenting I hit on the lighting in that photo I posted. Like I said, I'm pleased.

I wonder if they'll do more DS models.

Models for other versions of DS would definitely be fun. But staying with NoDS, even though it's from a scene that isn't in the film, a Quentin model based on this still -

- would be something I would definitely buy as a companion to Angelique. Who knows how complicated it might be, though, to create/print?

I'd buy that model kit in a heartbeat! That'd be way cool!
I have similar accent lights that I've been using on the show lately, but they are plug-in lights. I'll have to pick up some of the wireless ones too!
