I listened to segment 1 last night, and it sounds like some folks are having maybe a little much fun. Stop it. There is to be -no- fun. Period.

Damn.  I enjoy fun.

Jennifer, we are currently not out on the Cape, but hopefully that'll change in the coming months.  We do have Wareham on tap for "Wave 3" distribution of the show.

Congrats, PennyDreadful! I live about a half hour outside of Boston. I love stuff like this. I'm also a big fan of Ghoul A Go-Go. I hope I get a chance to see your show.

For anyone who's interested:

Our appearance on the 'Spooky Southcoast' paranormal radio talk-show is now archived and available online for your listening terror!

We discuss the show, horror movies (classic versus current), horror-hosts, and paranormal occurences on the sets of  horror films!

Segment 1 - With Penny, Garou, & Dr. Von Bulow
Segment 2 - Producers of Shilling Shockers discuss movies and other stuff

Sorry to be coming in so late on this thread; alas I only seem to make it over here in fits and starts  :'(
That said, congratulations on the horror show!  I remember a number of those when I was growing up in NYC -- really miss them.  Have never been sure which were local and which were known in other parts of the country, though Creature Features seems to be at least regional. I've bookmarked your blog, etc. cause if I start poking around NOW, I'll NEVER get back over here to post <G>.

Oh to those discussing "M" with Peter Lorre -- I must agree, this is one of those movies you HAVE to see.  Remember first seeing it on public TV when I was in Jr High or High School.  No gore, no ick, no language and no overt showing of the crimes -- but the way the inferences are done makes it scarier than spelling things out EVER could.  Sad thing is it seemed to typecast Peter Lorre for life -- to the best of my knowledge everything he did after that was varients on the weasely little slime.

A big thank you to ProfStokes for her recommendation.  MB and I don't care to advertise, and we're not quite so gracious toward search bots, so we rely on word of mouth to bring in new members.
I fully understand reticence towards opening up boards and groups too much.  Like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

I can't agree more with your statement!!!!!!!!  Midnight, MB and everyone else involved in keeping this board running deserve a HUGE vote of thanks for keeping this board a friendly place for intelligent conversation.  I don't have sufficient praise for the day to day work involved in keeping a board like this running -- and especially in keeping it free of unpleasantness, viciousness and generally toxic behaviour. Well, if you want to see him at his comedic best, just rent the original film version of "Arsenic and Old Lace"  It's still a hilarious romp of a film, and his performance is brilliant.

Thanks Pansity!  We're currently working on consumer versions of the DVDs.  In the "Drunk Shadows" episode, we are putting an Easter Egg in the menu screen which will lead to a segment called "Penny Dreadful's Dark Shadows Collection."  I'll show the viewers - i.e. "my Dreary Ones" - some of my DS "curios."

"M" is a wonderful movie, and as you said, the subtle images in that film make it both riveting and terrifying. Peter Lorre's monologue at the end of the film still gives me chills.

And a big "HUZZAH!" to MB, Midnite and Dom for making this, hands down, THE BEST DS Board on the net.
