While catching up on today's posts on the new system's Web site, I came across The Geek Test. Never one to pass up proving my geekiness, I decided to take it. But imagine my surprise that on a scale of 1 to 8 that ranges from Geekish Tendencies to Dysfuntional Geek, I only rank a 2 - a plain, every day Geek (with a resultant geekiness of only 16.17357%)! And that's even factoring in that I use Linux over Windows!!

I guess this means I let too much real life get in the way of embracing geekiness. I'll have to do something about that!  ;D

But enough about me. Why not see where you rank on the geek-o-meter?  ;)  (And don't kid yourself - the mere fact that you're on your computer reading this forum definitely means that you'll place on the survey somewhere.  :D)

My Score: 5.91716....."Poser".......which doesn't actually appear on the chart...so I guess I'm not a geek at all.

(like I needed to take this test to show YOU that.... ::) )

Oh, this is just WRONG.  I answered truthfully, but even counting the 1% adjustment for being female I scored higher than you. ???

Anyway, same category-- 22.68245% geek.

I scored higher than you. ???

Then I guess we know who the real geek around here is.  :D  Perhaps you can give me geekiness lessons.  ;)  I honestly don't know what I'm not doing right.  :(

The highest percentage of geekiness so far on the system's Web site is 35.89744% (and that's from a regular member - not even one of the developers), which falls into the 4th category: Major Geek. There's still a possibilty that someone could get Super Geek, Extreme Geek, Geek God, or the ultimate: Dysfunctional Geek...

Well, there's still hope for you because attending the Fest should get you up to at least the 1st category: Geekish Tendencies.  ;)

Ha ha!  I guess I need to get in touch more with my inner geek.  ::)

Geez, I had never even heard of the SCA.   :-

I was directed there the other day by another board and scored 20.5282 -- Geek. But I have a damn hard time buying that I could be geekier than MB. The system is rigged!

Geez, I had never even heard of the SCA.   :-

Neither had I. But I just did a Google search and came up with two possibilities and I think I'm going with Society for Creative Anachronism over Sexual Compulsives Anonymous.  :D  (Well, unless sexual compulsives are considered more geeky than members of a society "dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe." It would be hard to believe if they are.  ;D)

Exactly!!!

When I googled it, I entered "geek" as well and only the former came up. ;)

Inability to face up to reality is always such a sad thing to see.  :(  :'(

This ENFJ is 32.54428% - TOTAL GEEK!  Yo baby!

It must have been all the gaming I've done over the years including but not limited to LAN Parties, winning a Magic the Gathering tournament, playing D&D, playing loads of Final Fantasy video games, being a bookkeeper and quasi-liking to do my taxes or preparing a bunch of people for taxes, etc. etc. etc.  Oh yes, then there is that girl nerd site I belong to, GRU (Geeks R Us).  They will adore this test!  Thanks for sharing it MB.

32.54428% - TOTAL GEEK! ...

I can honestly say that, other than an occasional game of computer solitaire to pass the time while my computer is working on something else for me, I've never played a computer/video game in my life. And I couldn't tell the difference between an X-Box and Nintendo if they offered to pay me a million dollars. Perhaps that's a major reason why I scored so low...

I've never done my own taxes in my life either. And I despised every second of the one semester that I took of Accounting. (I have a banker friend who seems more than happy to do my taxes for me - and I trust him implicitly.) Give me Analytical Calculus or Trigonometry any day (which one would think would have ratcheted up my geekiness, but apparently it didn't).

And I don't have time to deal with any Web sites other than this one.  ;)

The fashion minded geek woman would have to have these geek fashion choices in their wardrobe.  Made for a ladies figure no less!
