Barnabas - "I'm afraid little David will have to die!"

Threatening to kill a child - nothing sociopathic about that - nope...

Thanks for the help, MB, but it doesn't really help.  It just lists our regular CBS station, as the cable person said.  It does have a "sub-station," which I presumably could get on the over-the-air set (but frequently the digital converter finds "no signal," so I often can't get anything).  But, if cable were to have it, it would have to be a separate station, and she apparently couldn't find anything.  The same as MeTV and THIS.  I have those as sub-stations on the over-the-air set, but cable DOES have separate stations for them.

every time I rewatch this part of the story I'm astonished at how sociopathic he was. not only a child but a member of his own family.

this is territory most vampire stories don't even go near. the victims are almost always adults.

Roger - "Liz, have you taken leave of your senses?"

"Next you'll be telling me you're turning Collinwood into a hotel! Why don't you do that, Liz - why don't you hang a sign out front and let out all the rooms!"

And of course, "My late sister's latest brainstorm."

But tongue twisting aside, you've got to love all of Roger and Liz' fights!!  [nodassent]

Yes, "destroy" and it's variations are definitely Barnabas' favorite expressions. Though at least when it comes to Woodard it's "He must be eliminated!"

But then, as Barn will say in the next ep, "Murder is such an ugly word."

Love how Woodard pulls down the shade in his office before he starts reading Julia's notebook again. As if that's going to help...

"Consider it a dream from which you will never awaken." Another one of my favorite lines from the show.

And with that the DS binge is over. But it was certainly fun while it lasted.  [nodassent]

if I was new to the show I'd be furious the "binge" ended on a such a cliffhanger...

and in terms of overall series mythology what happens next is one of the most pivotal, dramatic and powerful moments ever.

it ended with the episode where Dr. Woodard tells Julia he knows Barnabas secret and is threatening to go to the police before Barnabas shows up...

Seeing the screen cap of Jason and Willie in the May background reminded me that while watching the binge it hit me that I'm pretty sure we don't see the Willie's bedroom at Collinwood set ever again after Willie moves to the Old House. And I think that it was a great bedroom set what with those bookcases flanking the window and the wall sconces above the bed, and the great bed itself:

How odd that in all the years afterward the show never reconstructed it as the same bedroom for some other character living at Collinwood...
