Paraskevidekatriaphobia Day Montage
« on: February 13, 2004, 05:24:30 PM »
MB,you've well and truly topped yourself with this latest montage!  If you've rolled it out on previous Friday the 13ths, I've missed it.  Great selection of scenes.  It looks as if several of my favorite episodes were aired on this day.  Leave it to DS to rise to the occasion of Black Friday!

It's new today and I'm glad you approve.  ;)

Mine too. I particularly love episode #340, in which Julia and Barn discover Woodard has Julia's notebook and decide to act accordingly, and that scene between Hoffman and Liz in episode #970 is a great way to kick off 1970PT.

Excellent commemoration of the day!

However, you might have included a pronunciation guide to the title. [smrtasb]

If you click on Paraskevidekatriaphobia, you'll get a definition and background on the word from the MacMillan English Dictionary, but strangely there's no pronunciation. And none of the online dictionaries that I just checked recognize the word, much less show how to pronounce it.  [lghy]

Friday 13th was not a happy day for me at all!  Opening the paper that morning on the train to work I learned that my favorite actor, Gregory Peck, had just passed away.  My sad exclamation must have been heard from one end of the car to the other!  :'(

Gregory Peck one who seemingly had it all - talent, gorgeous looks, a voice to die for and life lived with the woman who was a soul mate.  More importantly, he seemed to be a genuinely good person virtually unaffected by the legendary status he had attained in Hollywood.  There was nothing of the primadonna about him.

He will be missed!  :'(

Sorry to do this here, but I'm trying to learn how to quote/copy from one thread to another; and it's same topic.

You're missing a [ at the very start, probably because it wasn't highlighted when you copied the quote.  Once you replace that, you'd need to clean up the extra opening quote tag that the system added, then save it.

Paraskevidekatriaphobia Day - How funny!  CNN had a little feature about that word.  They were repeating that program and had just come to that part as I was coming to this site.  I was thinking of running in to the other room to check exactly what the word was, but they show it such a short time, I figured I wouldn't get it anyway.  Then this site comes up and THERE IT IS!!!!

By the way, Patti, triskaidekaphobia, I believe, is fear of the number 13.  CNN said that the other one is fear of Friday the 13th.

I've always considered Friday the 13th my lucky day - either I had a test and did well, or got one back with a good score, or something nice would happen!!  :)

I've generally had good Friday the 13ths, too. Never an unlucky one that I can remember, anyway. Of course, for me, Fridays are always pretty happy days. Yesterday, the missus and the young'un were on respective trips out of town, so I had the house and cats to myself -- a very happy thing, now and again. [supergrin]
