Thinking Ahead to the 50th Anniversary

Hard to believe, but the 50th anniversary of the premiere of DS is only 2 years away.  Lately, I've been wondering what we can expect in terms of commemoration.

During the past few years, the DS Festival planners have moved away from the traditional three-day Fests in favor of cruises and smaller gatherings.  Makes me wonder if they're gearing up to do something really big for the 50th.  I tend to think, with the original cast members getting older, that the 50th could be the last major milestone for which the planners could secure a large turnout for the cast reunion.  It would be great if they could arrange a "cast reunion to end all cast reunions."

Also, perhaps 2016 will be the year that the long-rumored debut of DS on Me-TV finally happens.

Don't know what's left, in terms of merchandise, unless some long-lost gems are unearthed (e.g. missing episode 1219) or Warners finally greenlights the NODS restoration.

I think it's safe to assume that there will be a book..

Anyone else here on the Forum have any thoughts and/or wishes for the anniversary?

ME TV has said they're not interested in DS. But Antenna TV has said they are.
We shall see......

I've heard the opposite about the channels' interest in the show.  Also, there was an incident (according to http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=314913) in which Me-TV listed DS on their website as an upcoming show and then quickly removed it.

In any event, it would be good to see it back on the air -- especially for the 50th anniversary -- and interesting to see the impact its re-airing would have on fandom.

I had asked ME TV on their official Facebook page about DS, a moderator said no go, but when I did the same at Antenna TV's page, a moderator said they were interested.

Fifty years?!?  How could it be 50 years?  I grew up watching DS, right from the pilot, and I'm only 35.
