Maybe just to see what would happen...  ;)

I have to say the whole "this image is copyrighted" that happens when you click on her is driving me a lil nuts too.

You know, I wan't aware that I was right clicking, but that may be what happened. Again, I promise to be more careful. I think the 333 cures was like bad buckshot, lol. Promise I'm better. Maybe I was possessed by Locke.

Absolutely no problem. And I can definitely relate to your fingers doing things you're not even aware of because sometimes when I'm reading over a post before submitting it I'll notice that I've typed the same word twice, one instance right after the other, and I'll have absolutely no recollection of doing it.  [confused5]  Though when I start to think about it, I suspect it happens whenever I get distracted by something else while I'm in the middle of typing of a thought and then I go back to finish it off.

I never right click, yet I get that message lots when I start chasing those things. Today I was lucky enough to catch it and received over 300 curses though, so I'm feelin' good.  ;D

How very, very odd. I've never had the copyright message come up in Netscape or Firefox - but I just experimented in IE and it did indeed come up on my 5th try. Who knows why because it certainly shouldn't. But then, nothing that happens in IE should surprise me.  ::)

It's also odd that in IE the floaty seems to crawl across the screen much of the time. But what's extremely bizarre is that it disappears off the screen. It should bounce off the sides of every browser's display window regardless of whether the entire page is displayed or not.

Have I mentioned before that I think IE is crap?!  >:(

I also may have used the handy middle mouse button.  This can have all kinds of interesting effects on things.

It has to do with whether or not you drag as you left-click. If you drag the mouse the least little bit and you happen to have it positioned over a forum graphic other than the floaty, you'll get that message.

Hello, All...I am very new here, and I don't understand what the "karma" is about. Can someone please explain? What does "cure" "curse" mean and what do the numbers mean after them? Thanks!

RainingWolf, if you like what someone has written in their post, you may "curse" them. If you don't particularly care for something they said, you may "cure" them.

The numbers show how many "curses" and "cures" a person has received.

I hope I got that all correct. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Hope this helped!  :)

You definitely got the basic premise of Karma right - and thanks for answering rainingwofl.  :)

There are several topics on this board that explain different aspects of the Karma feature. To locate/read them, while visiting this board simply type the word karma in the searchbox either under "Search: Testing. 1, 2, 3..." (in the header under the date/time and DS history box in the bloodred theme) or opposite the searchbox above the topic listings (in the Variations on Blue theme), and then click on the "Search" button.

Thanks, Sunny, for the explanation, and I will also try to use the search feature first next time as well. I do appreciate your patience as I try to learn how to use this board. I'm having great fun reading all the posts!  :)

i have a question about karma.

lately i've noticed that some brand new members already have thousands of points in their karmic totals.

how is this possible?

They've clicked on floaties.  :)

I'm think I'm one of those--did I do something wrong? If so, I apologize--never meant to offend! :'( Is there a way to correct this if need be? And what are the "floaties" that I shouldn't click on?  [confused_ani] I'm trying to learn...really!
