And here's another thing. So he paints a portrait of the perfect woman contained within his mind. Voila! She appears. (Of course, there are all the problems Josette brought up.) He figures out he has the ability to do that. Well, low and behold, he tries to pursue her and it turns out that she's not only not interested in him, but everyone else, from Tim Shaw to Gregory Trask and now Quentin already are ahead of him in line to get their hands on her brush-strokes. Does Tate give up? No. He keeps trying to woo her and just ends up more frustrated, causing him to touch that hair of his in what today would be diagnosed as obsessive-compulsive behavior. So.............why doesn't he just paint himself up another Amanda? As a matter of fact, why doesn't he scribble up a pile of thousand-dollar greenbacks while he's at it? Heck, go for the gold - get out those brushes and whip up a nice Newport-style mansion, a staff of servants and even throw in a luxury sailing yacht. Then he and Amanda 2 can live happily ever after.
Gerard (Who's also wondering why Petofi is going through all this stuff to escape the Gypsies, when all he has to do is wave his hand in front of his face and give himself a totally different look.)
