[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Setup:

Joe: My life hasn't been easy, though I don't like to complain.  As I'm sure you've heard, my mother ran off with a dead hamster salesman when I was three, and my father was killed in a freak cannery accident in which...

... a visiting hamster salesman was also killed... this was also when I was three... 

So, was it dead hamsters that the salesman sold  - or was the salesman himself dead? On DS the latter could easily work as well.      Either way, I love the set up.

...he slipped on a sardine and went flying into the fish gutting machine.  From there he was automatically processed, crammed into 587 sardine cans, and sold.  The good news is, the local undertaker gives a 5% discount on empty-coffin funerals.
