I'm sure that if the opportunity had presented itself, she would have collected said cooties and auctioned them off in a future memorabilia auction.

She may still claim to have done so. There's fewer and fewer people who could call her out on it.

Another fan told me that Roger Davis confronted KLS about some of the stuff that she wrote about him; probably the Maggie's diary section of the movie book. She didn't deny writing it, not that she could. But she did tell him that she didn't think that it was that bad.
Maybe she was less than discreet about sharing her experiences with Roger, maybe she wasn't.  But I really have a difficult time picturing him as the wounded party, as his reputation does precede him. KLS is hardly the first one to have issues of with Roger but she was probably the first to put it in print.

(Exactly! Plus let's not forget what a terrible reputation he had during the late-'80s/early-'90s because of his less than stellar behavior at the Fests. Thank heavens he eventually cleaned up his act.)

Were you there when he was encouraging fans to call Don Briscoe? He didn't give out the phone number, though he might as well have. He announced that the phone was listed under Cecil Briscoe in Memphis.

([pointing-up]  I think I may have missed that one. But I was there the year that he apparently berated a volunteer to the point that she was in tears.  [ghost_angry])

This didn't happen to me but several fans have said that he refused to sign their program books unless they bought one of the tshirts he was selling.

([pointing-up]  I've heard reports of that.  [ghost_rolleyes]

I didn't even want his autograph but I have it. And that's because at the 1989 Fest, which he wasn't even announced as attending, he went down the autograph line handing out a signed insert page for the program book.  [ghost_blink]  Funny how he could give it away free that year whether someone wanted it or not...)

There was an incident of sorts in the dealers room one year. Roger saw some pictures of himself that he wanted on one of the tables and expected to get them for free. The dealer refused. They got into quite an argument that stopped just before Roger could take a swing at him.
I don't think that either of them behaved like adults. Roger came across as entitled and demanding. But the dealer (Parker Riggs, who was a fixture at the early festivals) was not the most honest person either. The photos in question were bootleg copies of Ben Martin's work. The incident blew over quickly enough but it was no one's finest hour.
