At series start/first appearance:

Barnabas: 21-30 (XD)
Victoria: 18-21
Maggie: 18-21
Carolyn: 18-21
Elizabeth: 49 (she lists her age as 50 when she
writes it on the list of deceased Collins family members
a year later)
Roger: 40-45
Julia: 43-47
Stokes: 45-65
Angelique: My best guess would be around 18-21 when she became immortal.

Yeah there were lots of issues with age. I can understand them wanting to make the character Barnabas around 24-25, but once the decided to cast JF for the character, they should've changed plans a little bit. Naomi being supposedly born in 1755 really doesn't work for me at all.

Also, in the mausoleum, long after the 1795 flashback, Naomi's headstone said she died in 1810 or something like that. We all know that isn't true. ots of issues with age. Naomi was supposed to be around 40??

But, according to "Shadows on the wall", I remember something like (in 1966):
Victoria - 22
Maggie - 22
Carolyn - 18
Elizabeth - 56
Roger - 38

The rest I'm not sure, but I'd guess
Julia - 40
Professor Stokes - 50
Angelique when she first arrived on the canvas - 21

I have a hard time buying Elizabeth as 18 years older than Roger. But hey, I have a hard time buying Barnabas as 12 years older than Sarah, too.

Yeah I do too. But, supposedly Art Wallace envisioned that age gap. I remember specifically in Shadows On The Wall that he wrote the ages and briefly described the basic characters.

in the fest topics i was surprised to read that lara was 30 when she joined the series.
"angelique" seemed like a much younger girl(despite being 200 years old).

i recall in 1795 that vicki tells the countess dupres during some sort of inquisition that she was 22 years old.

burke, barnabas and roger always seemed "middle aged" to me even though they were supposed to be younger.

I think Burke was supposed to be around 35.

This is the way I figured it (either from the series, or from my own reckoning based upon trying to figure things out from the series [+ or - means maybe more/maybe less; all figures are when the characters joined the series]):

Elizabeth: 49.
Roger 44-.
David:  9.
Carolyn:  19.
Vicki:  21-.
Maggie:  21-.
Sam:  45+/-.
Burke:  35+.
Barnabas:  38+/- (when he died in 1795).
Angelique: 25+/- (in 1795; different ages, such as in PT where she si probably 31+).

During the Paul Stoddard story,  Roger reveals that he knows nothing of what went on because he was away at boarding school.

As established in the 1970PT storyline and explained here
Barnabas was supposedly 25 when he was cursed. Though the topic also mentions the caveats of why that might not be so.  [ghost_wink]

The interesting thing is I remember Frid commenting more than once that it was fun playing Barnabas as a "youth" in 1795. I thought that was an odd choice of words at the time - but also at the time I'd completely forgotten about the 1970PT gravestone.

As far as the Shadows on the Wall bible goes, at the start of DS:
Victoria is 20 (and that tracks exactly with one of the '66 promos that said that "20-year-old Victoria Winters has come to probe the mystery of her past.")
Maggie is 23
Carolyn is 17
Elizabeth is 56
Roger is 36
Burke is 32
Joe is 21
Sam is 53
Frank is 27

As far as Julia goes, it's almost anyone's guess what age she might be if Barnabas is supposedly only in his mid-20s because quite obviously the age of the actors may have very little to do with their characters' ages. Though we do know that Julia would have had to have completed medical school, her internship & residentcy, etc., so she could easily be 10 years older than Barnabas.

It's also anyone's guess how old Professor Stokes might be.

And one would assume Angelique is close to Josette's age - but who knows...

Carolyn is 17

I could be wrong, but wasn't Carolyn 2 years old when Paul Stoddard left?  Wouldn't that make her a bit older?

MB was stating the ages as they were specified in a manuscript written before the show actually started-- a.k.a. Shadows on the Wall - The DS Bible .
Once the show actually took form certain facts were altered.

Carolyn's age fluctuates back and forth depending on the storyline. But believe it or not, it's most often established throughout the various storylines that she was 17 when DS began - flashbacks featuring Paul Stoddard and the Leviathans notwithstanding.  [ghost_wink]
