Poor Joel Crothers made me laugh out loud today, when he walked into Collinwood and couldn't get his cloak to behave.  And then when he walked out, the door bounced open again after he shut it.  But still, he did a very nice job as the increasingly odious and scheming Nathan.

Millicent's wedding dress was beautiful.  A pity that it was worn in honor of such a worthless bridegroom.  I was thinking that Joshua should tell Nathan before the ceremony that Millicent had handed all her money over to Daniel, to give Nathan a chance to change his mind, but then I decided that Joshua is more interested in making sure Nathan won't spill the beans about Barnabas - even if Nathan is incorrect on what exactly the beans are.  I always think of this part of 1795 as a rather unnecessary coda, but it isn't that at all.  Somehow or other things have to be set up so that Willie can let Barnabas loose in 1967, and Nathan is what makes that possible.

I liked Naomi's dress as well, and wondered if she had originally intended to wear it to the wedding of Barnabas and Josette.

Before the wedding, Nathan referred to Millicent as "Miss Millicent', which I found rather odd, as I don't believe he has ever called her that previously. I suppose he's trying to show the family just how proper he can be.

Excellent job, Nathan...

I loved Millicent and Naomi's dresses in this episode, as well. [santa_grin] Yes, indeed, it was rather amusing to watch Nathan's cloak fall off the table and the front door fail to close. I believe that Naomi referred to Daniel as "David" in this episode, also. Another blooper! That's part of the fun of DS!  [santa_azn]

Nathan certainly has changed since the beginning. He is becoming more mean and cruel as time goes on. Greediness is a powerful emotion. I felt sorry for Millicent when she was being gas-lighted by Nathan.  [santa_sad]

That Ben sure must have been some servant!  Imagine singlehandedly lugging a heavy coffin all the way up the stairs to the tower in the middle of the night without being noticed.

And what's with that light in the tower that every person at Collinwood seems to have seen the night before?  Joshua doesn't have much experience with keeping secrets apparently.
