I felt really bad for Millicent in this episode. It's no wonder she wants nothing to do with Nathan.

When Suki interrupts the discussion between Natalie and Joshua, she says she heard Josette calling for someone named Barnabas, and she hopes Josette is all right. But instead of sounding concerned, she only sounded nosey, like she was trying to get information.

I don't think Suki had any intensions of ever leaving Collinwood, she enjoyed harassing Nathan too much.

Well, I'll say this much for Barnabas, he gave Josette every opportunity to back out of his dark world.

I thought Josette and Natalie were awfully familiar with Joshua, calling him by his first name, rather than Mr. Collins. I suppose that must come from spending so much time living with the Collins family, and for Josette being part of the family, at least by marriage. Still, it sounded strange to me, to hear him referred to so casually.

I really enjoyed the scene between Vicki and Peter, and how she tried to explain about airplanes. It was well acted!

As for Vicki knowing about the events leading up to Josette's death, perhaps it was in the family history but was never mentioned?

It must have been extremely startling for Natalie to see Josette wearing Barnabas's ring, a man she knows to be dead.  [hall2_shocked]

i always think it's strange that viewers who come to the show during one of the time travel periods becomes familiar with those characters first and then have to be "introduced" to the present time characters who are in effect "new" to them even though those characters had been with the show first.

That is exactly how I was introduced to the series, with the 1795 characters first, so it was quite difficult to become accustomed to the present-day characters.

Something needs to be said about Suki's hat, but I got nothin'....

What's wrong with suki's hat?

When Josette and Barnabas were having that conversation at the beginning of the episode, and he told her he was cursed, why didn't he take that opportunity to tell Josette that Angelique was the witch? He could have at least hinted at it. If he had, Josette could have used her influence to free Vicki. lfter all, she did say, when barnabas was sick,  that she would do anything she could to free Vicki if only she would keep Barnabas from dying.

Why did ben have to mention to Barnabas that Josette believed Barnabas would return to her? That only weakened Barnabas's resolve never to go near her.

I agree with EmeraldRose, that Natalie said she was in danger of dying simply to persuade Josette to leave Collinwood.

Poor Ben, he has been called upon to do some horrific things no one should ever have to do. Too bad Angelique stopped him from carrying out his promise to Barnabas. She seems to have a one-track mind, always set on revenge against somebody, and most times mainly Barnabas.

What a pity Barnabas wasn't able to witness Sarah's funeral. I realize he saw her die, but funerals provide a measure of closure when someone dies, and barnabas wasn't able to attend Sarah's or Josette's funerals, or any of his family members after he was cursed. Perhaps that's why he lives so much in the past. It's much easier to keep denying the facts when you haven't truly accepted them. I just think things might have been easier for him had he been able to have a bit of closure to all these deaths. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense.  [hall2_embarrassed]

It's amazing how events can change a person. In the beginning when Abigail was making such a fuss about the presence of a witch, Joshua didn't believe in such nonsense. Now he's thoroughly convinced of their existence, and that it's Vicki.

A very sad episode indeed!  [hall_cry]

I wonder if Angelique knew just how much her curse would encompass? It's so heartless for her to harm an innocent child, much less to make one die.

At the end of the episode when Sarah dies, the London Bridge song is playing sadly, and I think it fits so well. I believe it's the last time we hear it.

I guess it's a good thing Ruby Tate didn't know how to swim, or Barnabas would be in a heap of trouble.

I wonder why Joshua didn't hire another governess for Sarah, or at least have one of the servants keep watch over her.

How do you explain to your little sister that you got turned in to a vampire? It's no wonder Sarah was afraid of barnabas, most adults would be as well.

I loved that scene with Barnabas kneeling at Jeremiah's grave. Excellent!

From this episode we can see that Sarah is a very thoughtful child, wanting to cheer up josette by making her a candle so that Barnabas will return.

If Peter has been reading the book, surely there was mention of cars, airplanes and the like. You'd think he would ask Vicki about them. But then I seem to recall he does so in a later episode.  [hall2_undecided]

Ben the unlearned servant is behaving more wisely than Barnabas when he tells him not to shock Josette by returning to her. Barnabas seems to be acting on nothing but his feelings and it's Ben who has to keep him from doing something he'll regret.

Could you ask for a more devoted sister than sarah? She went out in the cold to find her brother, only to have him vanish. It must have been so hard for Barnabas not to appear to her.

If the book was in Vicki's room to begin with, then Josette found it and took it with her, how did Vicki know where to find it? I suppose she deduced that Josette would keep it with her, and the first logical place to look would be her room.

When Trask wants to assure himself that Vicki is still in her cell, and Peter says they don't usually allow visitors so late at night, then Trask hotly tells him he doesn't want to visit her. That struck me as funny. Just his tone when he says it is quite amusing.

one of the problems is that David went down this road before and never even references it to either Hallie or himself. I know this is the writers fault but I think it hurts the concept here. Iit would have been more inteersting to have seen David struggling with these forces which he really should be terriified by since his last encounter with Quentin.

Welcome, Buzz!  [hall2_smiley]

As far as David mentioning Quentin, Spoiler: since Barnabas went to 1897 and changed Quentin's history, he didn't die, therefore he couldn't be a ghost, and David and Amy would never have experienced a haunting from him. So those events in David's world never occurred. Only we the viewers remember it.
