 I saw the play yesterday--very good.  And met Mr. Hall. . contrary to his photos he was tall, slender. . very nice.

Actor Anthony George died March 16 in Newport Beach, Calif. of complications from emphysema. He was 84.

Born Ottavio George in Endicott, N.Y., George began his acting career for Fo, appearing in films including "Where the Sidewalk Engds," "Under My Skin" and "You Never Can Tell."

He starred with Rosalind Russell in the General Electric Theater TV production "The Night Goes On," and went on to appear in TV shows including "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Sea Hunt" and "Death Valley Days."

He had a recurring role as agent Cam Allison in "The Untouchables" and as Don Corey on "Checkmate."

George also toured the country in the musical "Funny Girl" as Fanny Brice's husband.

Moving back to television, he appeared on "Dark Shadows" for two years and then played Dr. Tony Vincente in "Search for Tomorrow" from 1970 to 1975 and Dr. Will Vernon in "One Life to Live" from 1977 to 1984.

He is survived by his partner Robert Watson, two brothers and a sister.
