Current Talk '02 II / Re: Ecrutiating scenes to watch

The shots that are painful to watch for me are plentiful. They involve that ridiculous skeleton that looks like a reject from a defunct classroom and somebody shrieking AAAIIIIEEEE!!! at the sight of it!

In a soap opera, you can never underestimate the need for a henchman. And a sneaky, conniving, back-stabbing henchman is even better!  :D

Vicky got a new fireplace too! I haven't seen today's yet, maybe she and Julia are taking turns in the "good" bedroom?  ::)

Gosh, it took me long enough to come up with something....he DIDN'T kill Naggie on numerous occasions. (Which may be more than I would be capable of).  [batang]

I just love him.  ;) I hate to see him represented disproportionately.

Well, Cheryl, you are a loyal heart and that means a lot. I have to confess Craig REALLY bugged me last time around and I am almost liking him this time, perhaps due to your influence. I did find that scene to not be one of his best, though.

Mostly, I am VERY glad that it isn't Roger Davis you fell for! [king]

Also, the requirement for the VO was that the actor was not in the opening scene (although I have seen an exception to this at least once.)

I hadn't heard that one. I have noticed that if Vicky is in the show, she almost always still does the voiceover. I don't think she is the best at it though. I have to go with the others this time, Grayson and the Professor  are the best.  Though I also enjoy some unknown with a small part in that day's episode, as it is fun to try to guess who the heck it is!

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Re: **** New Features? ****

A vote? I'm still jumping up and down over the polling features! Wahoo!!! [beer]

Oh, personally, I second what Ringo said. Collapsible board would have been my 2nd choice.

Excuse me now, I'm going to go run off to tell Barnabus! I'll take the short cut through the woods to the Old House. Don't worry about ME, I'll be FINE. No, you don't have to go with me (just because of all the recent attacks), I can TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!

It isn't that I don't WANT to answer you, I just am not a good enough geek to! I do suspect that your computer's age may be a big part of your problem. I know when I lived in the styx I had a second line (which I wish I had now) and a local ISP that was usually satisfactory. But, I've never been able to afford a really great connection.

when barnabas declared to willie that he would "do away with dr. hoffman, now" and the fly began to interfere with his performence, he gently waved at it, instead of getting the collinsport gazette and attacking it   ;D

Ohhhhhh, TOO funny!

Re: Nancy Barretts eyebrows:  Sometimes it looked as though she didn't have any - I think they should have used a darker shade.   :)

OK, I know what you mean, but that isn't what I was getting at. In my avatar, they were perfect and that is Nancy at her best. Then they started using a lighter gold brown shade and globbing it around her natural brow like an overgrown, sideways comma. You can see her natural brow through it and I just want to wipe the whole mess off. Similar to todays look of full lips with lipstick, when you can SEE quite well that the natural lip line is much smaller.

To compliment MB on an outstanding weekend montage!  :D

I love the picture of Liz in the corner. She looks so lovely in it. Am I the only one who thinks Angie just looks silly as vampire? There is a portrait of her as vamp that is used quite frequently and I get the tee hees everytime I see it.

Congrats for a job above and beyond your usual great work!

Well, I would probably choose the smaller house. I think it would be less intimidating to me. And naturally, given my lifelong bad timing, Barney would be a vampire at that time. He would graciously invite me in and explain that he didn't have a phone. I would be welcome to spend the night and in the morning, I could walk to Collinwood to use the telephone, he would say to me. Being lulled by his obvious gentility and the beauty of Josette's room, I would agree. However, a short while later, I would find myself questioning this choice. Namely, because of a very nervous, stammering "servant" who seemed kindly and yet was looking at me with dread.

Therefore, I would quietly sneak out of the house later, after I had supposedly retired for the evening. By this time the storm had passed, and it was no longer as dark because of the light from a full moon. As I pause in the woods contemplating my next move, I hear a howl. It is the last thing I hear in this lifetime....

What really gets me is when some poor soul who has been kept in the dark for sometime about something (usually mysterious) finally starts to see the light and will ask about it, only to be met with the usual reply back "NEVERMIND!!"   Barnabas is famous for saying that one. ;)

Oh yes, and ALSO "We will tell you about it all.....LATER!" How many times have we heard THAT one? Prof. Stokes ain't buying it, that's fur sure!

If you're talking about the liquid liner that formed a definate line, it went out in the seventies. But as someone else said, the black smudged eye pencil is "in" and I love it!

I honestly love Julia's makeup. Vicky could use more, Maggie could use less, Julia's is perfect. Some people just carry it off better, or it suits their nature more. I agree that she looks good in the pic you posted too though.

What I can't understand is why they had to go and paint over Nancy Barrett's eyebrows so unflatteringly. She is looking weird at this point in the series and it gets worse in the future. She was so lovely before that!

Now I admire Professor Stokes's intelligence and appreciate how quickly he's able to solve problems and catch on to the various mysterious goings-on, but in today's episodes, he was just too good to be true.  What put Stokes on to Danielle Roget's trail?  Sure, he's bound to be suspicious of Adam's mystery woman, but where in the world did he get the idea that her name was an anagram?  That one is just too far-fetched for me.

Then again, when I meet new people, I don't instantly demand to know how to spell their names just in case they turn out to be mass murderers from bygone centuries.

And personally, I think that his solution to discovering her true identity may be just a TAD overstated given the lack of any kind of proof.

When I ran Leona Eltridge thru the amalgram I didn't even get Danielle Roget, though I did get at least two name possibilities: Leonard (I TOLD YOU!) Elegit and Oleander Legit. You don't hear Prof. Stokes saying "I'm telling you, she is really a man!" Nor even, "Oleander? Only someone REALLY named Leonard would use THAT name!"

(For my own real name, I rather liked "Black Neuron" and "Lunar Beckon". I may start going by Lunar any day now!)
